July 15th – 21st, 2013

This week may be a week of high hopes, some realized, others dashed. We might not know whether we are coming or going but thankful to be in motion.

This is the last week of the Sun’s month-long transit through Cancer and the last week of the three-week Mercury retrograde. Uranus turns retrograde this week.

The week starts off in high gear, although if we think it will be a straight-line progression we shall be sorely disappointed. We may need to engage the tai chi moves, working with the energy, skirting impediments, and recognizing that some of the people in our lives might seem dual personalities at best. Information coming to us could be fast and furious but can also be misinformation or too little information for us to gain great clarity.

The mid-part of the week can be pleasant as long as we slow things down and see how we can simplify our lives. Often, we create too much hoo-ha around our lives, taking on superfluous involvements, always trying to fill any void in our schedule with anything that keeps us busy.

There can be a significant shifting of gears mid-week. Much of our explorations into self-discovery may be daunted and our desires for change put on hold as we look to clear away the clutter and clean up any mess of our past that can trip us up in our present and in the future.

The latter part of the week can have us in searching mode, spreading our wings, looking to broaden our expanse and drawing upon our intuitive, feeling nature. We may be done with so-called empirical truth and realize that our inner voice provides a more accurate read to the twists and turns in today’s world.

The weekend could be a time to tie up loose ends, deal with errands and try to extricate ourselves from confusing and frustrating situations. We do need to go slow over the weekend, since Mercury turns direct on Saturday. During times of Mercury stationary, things can take longer than we like, can send out mixed signals and can create a maze out of what could have been labyrinthine ways.

Monday, July 15th – Juggling Other People’s Responsibilities – Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Mercury, Venus, Sun. Today would be a day when we might want to engage the sentiment ‘no more Mr. / Ms. Nice Guy’. Monday has the Lunar T-Square and the end of the Cardinal Grand Cross with the Libra Moon today opposed Uranus in Aries, the Moon square Mercury and the Moon square the Sun with both Mercury and the Sun in Cancer. Yesterday, the Libra Moon squared Pluto in Capricorn. The Moon also sextiles Venus. We may feel put upon by other people’s wants, needs and responsibilities. Our actions and decisions can be impacted, even curtailed, by other people. We need to be wary of ‘smiling faces’ that seek to gain our assistance without offering anything back in return. People may seem to be considerate and understanding, but today there can be a tendency for people to look out after their own self best interests. Let’s not fall prey to manipulations, for even if we do cave, we may become resentful and feel totally taken advantage of. We need to weigh carefully how absorbed in other people’s issues we choose to be. If we get overly involved, we may find that their needs are a bottomless pit and that more is never enough.

Tuesday, July 16th – Taking Care of Business – Lunar Grand Trine, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune. Tuesday and Wednesday gives us a Water Grand Trine. Today, the Moon moves into Scorpio where the Moon conjuncts Saturn and the Moon trines Mars and Jupiter both in Cancer, and the Moon trines Neptune in Pisces. We may be highly attentive to what is going on. We are not focused solely on first impressions today. We want to know what is going on below the surface, what the true reality is beyond the superficial appearance. People may have put one over on us yesterday, but not today. We are not looking at rushing around. We are far more strategic today, far more resourceful and considering all the ins and outs before we engage. We can accomplish a great deal today, and it would be wise for us to take care of business. We can get rid of a great deal of the extraneous, cut to the core, and focus on the fundamentals. Cleaning up our home base, clearing away the clutter of our lives would provide additional space in which we can bring in new areas of interest that are far more exciting than our old, outworn activities. We may be moody today with swings between the depressive and the enthusiastic. If we can temper our emotions, we can be both practical and idealistic.

Wednesday, July 17th – Turning Tides – Pluto, Mercury, Grand Trine, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus retrograde. Wednesday continues with much of the intuitive, feeling qualities of yesterday. Yesterday and today are good days for us to draw upon our inner voice, that inner knowing that we all have. No matter what appears to be going on, we can get a far better handle on true reality by trusting our gut instincts. The Moon in Scorpio sextiles Pluto and the Moon trines Mercury. Jupiter transiting Cancer triggers the Water Grand Trine with Jupiter trine Saturn in Scorpio and Jupiter trine Neptune in Pisces. Uranus turns retrograde. We may be in a highly expansive mood today. We could be optimistic and confident and seeing everything in a brilliant aura, or is that a splendid haze? There can be a tendency to accept historical facts and figures and assume that recurring patterns will be repeated. And there could lie a possible pitfall. Although we may be more comfortable with the ‘tried and true’ and might assume that what was, is and will be; such a belief is out of sync with today’s reality of asequential progressions whereby things occur unexpectedly without beginning, middle and end, but rather revealing process with varied twists and turns. Uranus turning retrograde can forestall many of the new changes we have been looking to incorporate into our lives. Our changes may be far more internal than external, and we could be experiencing unexpected incidents that could get under our skin and aggravate us. It is important that we be observant, aware and mindful and that we not make any knee-jerk reactions or impetuous decisions.

Thursday, July 18th – Out on a Limb – Venus, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune. Thursday begins with the Scorpio Moon, which today has the Moon square Venus and the Moon trine the Sun. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over six and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before entering Sagittarius where today the Moon squares Neptune. We may have had epiphanies, awakenings and realizations yesterday and Tuesday. We might feel as though we are on the right track, and that things will unfold easily and without delays. It’s a nice concept and certainly one that we would all wish for. But we should also recognize that we do not live or operate in a vacuum. In a perfect world, everything would run smoothly and in total accord with our intentions. But by now we should realize the perfection of imperfection with the multitude of flaws, foibles and dysfunctionalities. We might feel that we do not have the resources to put on a grand show of ourselves. Our presentations might be limited by what we have available. Such a situation calls forth our greatest talents to accomplish more with less, to be as effective with what we have rather than pining for what we do not have. We may come to understand that some of our greatest dreams and our intentions born from the past two days’ senses of things, our intuition and our confidence might need to be brought down to the conditions of our reality. It is all well and good to have our head in the clouds, but we still need to keep our feet firmly planted on the ground. This is a day to step back from the edge, to walk back from being out on a limb and to seriously consider what we can do and what we have to put off for another time. Let’s not fly in the face of our conditions but rather consider how we can change our conditions little by little.

Friday, July 19th – Piecing Adventures Together – Uranus, Saturn, Neptune. Friday has the Sagittarius Moon trine Uranus. Much of this week has emphasized the Water Grand Trine with the Cancer-transiting planets triggering the Saturn Neptune trine. Today, we have Saturn trine Neptune. Friday is a day when we can spread our wings, involve ourselves in new interests and be incredibly adept at fitting pieces together for our new grand adventures. We may have a new sense of ourselves, a desire to stretch beyond our normal daily responsibilities and the ability to devise a best practices approach. This is a day when we can engage new activities, see the possibilities in the abstract and in concept, yet also figure out the most expeditious ways to accomplish our desires. We could feel as though we have stepped off into a perfect world where everything flows smoothly and where we can streamline our actions so that all the parts fit neatly into the puzzle. We may want to fly away on this Friday, and stepping off the track could allow for some instantaneous revelations as to how we can best proceed. We are more interested in trajectories that open up unexpectedly than dealing with same old, same old.

Saturday, July 20th – Shot Out of the Starting Gate – Venus, Neptune, Saturn, Mars, Jupiter, Grand Trine, Mercury direct. Saturday could prove to be one action-packed day, although some of the action might be convoluted and seem like we are going around in circles. The day begins with the Sagittarius Moon trine Venus. The Moon then goes into Capricorn where today the Moon sextiles Neptune and the Moon sextiles Saturn and the Moon opposes both Mars and Jupiter. Mars transiting Cancer triggers the Water Grand Trine as Mars trines Neptune in Pisces and Mars trines Saturn in Scorpio. Mercury turns direct ending its three-week retrograde cycle. Fun may be on our Playbill for today, and we might be looking for all sorts of recreational activities to engage. At the same time, we might feel pulled to take care of errands, home projects and family matters. We may be feeling highly energized and the question could be how we cover so much ground in a short period of time and balance off our desire for fun events with our needs to get pressing matters done. We have the energy to do it all today, but where a problem arises is the Mercury turning from retrograde to direct motion. While we all welcome the change in direction of Mercury retrograde to direct motion, the process can be anxiety-provoking with various mixed signals, delays, frustrations and some bone-headed actions. We might have the energy to be fleet of foot but find ourselves making our way through the muddy quagmire of misunderstanding, miscommunication and misinformation. This is a day for us to check more than once our plans and our schedule. Otherwise, we could be bumping from one thing to another without getting much accomplished and without much satisfaction. This day calls for planning but making our list in pencil with a large eraser in order to make changes as conditions today warrant.

Sunday, July 21st – Attentive to the Process – Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus, Mercury. Moon Void-of-Course. Sunday triggers the Uranus Pluto square, again. We should be used to it by now. Those times when we go merrily along, assuming all’s right in the world, only to experience a sinkhole opening up before us, threatening to pull us in. Sunday begins with the Moon in Capricorn triggering the Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon conjunct Pluto, the Moon square Uranus and the Moon opposed Mercury. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over twenty-six hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Capricorn and before entering Aquarius tomorrow and the Aquarius Full Moon. Whatever we have planned for this Sunday, let’s not get locked into our plans. Unexpected situations can arise that force us to twist and turn. Although we might prefer this day to be structured with steps taken in an orderly manner, there is very little orderly or even clear on this Sunday. This is a day for us to be nimble and quick to the shifting sands of our lives. We might want things a certain way, but that might not be the way things unfold. Let’s be adaptable to changes and not overly judge what is going on but rather able to keep up with the twists and turns. We may want to take care of last minute details and attend to matters that we wish to get out of the way. This is the last day of the Sun’s month-long transit of Cancer. Tomorrow, the Sun enters Leo and we have the Aquarius Full Moon. Today is the first full day of Mercury having turned direct. Things can be a little crazed today, so let’s just go with the flow. Things may be rapid and discombobulated early in the day, and then level out as the energy dies down later in the day.
