May 13th – 19th, 2013

This week feels another shift in the energies. We may have a spring in our step, a ‘devil may care’ attitude and a willingness to gloss over situations rather than focus on details. And there could lie the problems.

This mid-May period sees a shift from a Stellium of three or more planets in Taurus to a Stellium of three or more planets in Gemini.

If we have been plodding along, feeling frustrated and delayed at times, we are now less concerned about ramifications of our actions or past issues. Our due diligence and our concentration on getting it right can leave us behind as we focus on the kaleidoscope of unfolding events. We may embrace the concept of ‘let bygones be bygones’. We don’t want to harp on the past or on past misdeeds. We want to engage springtime and the exuberance that comes with the burgeoning of nature and our own second wind.

The week may start with us slightly hesitant, possibly confused and even with a liability of being snared by the flashy spectacles and idyllic promises held out to us.

Disinformation crept into our lexicon some thirty years ago and has become a palatable way of disguising lying. We have to be aware and mindful and maintain a healthy skepticism about whatever might be presented to us, for these times are filled with tricksters, hucksters, false prophets and some downright nasty characters. The days of ‘Father Knows Best’, ‘Leave it to Beaver’ and ‘Ozzie and Harriet’ are long gone, and for many people not even trace memories.

While one might assume that life is a forward progression and evolution, life and history are cyclical with good times, bad times and a continual dance between the two with the hope of finding the right equation in developing the quality of life.

The mid-part of the week and latter part of the week can have us talking up a storm. Our ideas are plentiful and our mind cascading with all sorts of thoughts that we want to share with whomever will listen. Fun activities and new adventures can be part of the latter part of our week. We may be surprised by opportunities that arise and enjoy encounters with some very interesting people who are marching to the beat of their own drum.

The weekend may have us tending to necessary chores. Our weekend commitments might seem to put a crimp into our activities, but we could engage a hurried speed-through of here, there and everywhere. In so doing, we could leave some situations unattended or attended to badly.

In the whirlwind of accelerated activities, we need to keep our finger on the pulse regarding what is truly important for us to do and what might prove to be mindless, although entertaining, diversions. We can have a lot in the hopper this week, and it would be suggested that we keep our eye on our long-term goals and intentions, even if we stray from our straight and narrow. We all need a break from routine at times but let’s just not get lost in space.

Monday, May 13th – Inch by Inch – Lunar Grand Trine, Neptune, Saturn, Venus, Neptune. Monday starts the week on a highly emotional thrust. The Moon moves into Cancer, and today the Moon creates a Grand Trine in the Water Signs as the Cancer Moon trines Neptune in Pisces and the Moon trines Saturn in Scorpio. Our feelings may be accentuated, and we might be looking only for the good in all things — people, events, situations. We do not want to see the seedy side of life today. Our compassion is engaged, and we might easily embrace the old Christian saying of ‘there, but for the grace of god, go I’. While our sensitivity is heightened on this Monday, our clarity may be hazy. Venus squares Neptune today, and we could easily read into a person’s motives and into a situation the best of intentions. While that may be a nice quality to express, we have to be cautious that we are not hoodwinked by our own empathy and mistake images and presentations as the real thing when they may be but masquerades to fool us. This is a day for us to take things slowly, step by step, inch by inch, and not jump to any conclusions or decisions based upon first impressions. We have to avoid being misled or lied to. Things may look great on the outside, but once involved we could find ourselves entangled into some nasty conditions. Due diligence is called for today, as is braking action on our emotional sentiments.

Tuesday, May 14th – Banging and Crashing Before Getting it Straight – Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Pluto, Mars. Yesterday could have easily put us in la-la-land, a fantasy world of what could be but never was. If we didn’t get hoodwinked yesterday, then our qualities of mindfulness and awareness have been well honed. Today is a different story, for today the Cancer Moon triggers the Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon square Uranus and the Moon opposed Pluto. Later in the day, the Moon sextiles Mars. Coming off a mystical, magical allure yesterday that likely could have been misleading and misperceived, Tuesday can start with a few head bangers. We might find ourselves the brunt of other people’s critique and criticism with some people doing their power plays and looking to take us down a notch or two. We may feel as though we are subject to someone playing ‘whac-a-mole’ on us with us dodging repeated blows. Tai chi moves might be called for today, as we try to be more aware of the suddenly different energies from yesterday and seek to circumvent the whacks to us by people who have nothing better to do than to build up their ego by taking us down a notch or two. The liability for discord in the morning hours cannot be discounted. The more we can avoid being pummeled, the less aggravation Tuesday could provoke in us. Later in the day, the Moon sextiles Mars. We can move ahead without the obstructions or criticisms that we might have faced earlier in the day. A good soak in the tub late in the day can dispel much of the toxins from earlier assaults.

Wednesday, May 15th – A Brand New Day – Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Mercury Gemini. We may awaken on Wednesday with a fresh ray of sunshine. We could feel confident that no matter what is thrown at us, we can deal with it successfully. The Cancer Moon sextiles the Sun, before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over ten hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Cancer and before entering Leo. Mercury exits Taurus, ending the Stellium of three or more planets in the Fixed Earth Sign. Mercury enters its own Sign of Gemini and creates a Stellium of three or more planets in the Mutable Air Sign, as Mercury joins Venus and Jupiter in Gemini. The Leo Moon sextiles Mercury in Gemini. A major shift occurs on this Wednesday. We are moving from a practical and focused approach to a more diverse, highly active time. We may not have the same level of attention or concentration. On the contrary, we might be more enticed by appearances without considering the substance. We could be engaged with many brief interactions rather than a singular application. We can talk up a storm, put a good spin on everything we present to others, but the legwork of getting things done may not match the projection of what is being promised. Talk is cheap, plentiful and the follow through not as strong.

Thursday, May 16th – Spare No Expense – Saturn, Venus, Uranus. Thursday continues with the Leo Moon and today the Moon squares Saturn, the Moon sextiles Venus and the Moon trines Uranus. Although we might not feel overly confident about our abilities, we can certainly put on a grand show. Things could be a little over the top on this Thursday. We might easily assume that what we see is what we get, but appearances can be deceiving. Let’s be certain that whatever we engage today, we have the resources to accomplish without going overboard. Feeling blocked or restricted can generate a tendency to showmanship whereby the images presented are far more impressive than the actual results. As we start the day, we might feel blocked or obligated to do things that don’t truly appeal to us. If we would just put up with some of the early morning shenanigans, deal with what needs to be done, we could find that we are appreciated for our efforts and that our own personal interests gain support later in the day. Today is a day when we can address our routine obligations and then have time to participate in more pleasing and even surprising events later in the day. We do need to keep a handle on our finances, maintain adherence to our budget for otherwise we could spend a little too much today.

Friday, May 17th – Tug of War – Mars, Jupiter. Friday is a day when wits can win the day, while belligerence could only wreak havoc. The day begins with the Leo Moon square Mars before the Moon sextiles Jupiter afterwards. The saying that ‘you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar’ is an apt one for today. People may be a little too forceful to start the day, wanting what they want the way that they want it. Discussions could turn to heated arguments as someone tries to win their way. The irony is that less is more on this Friday. By talking nice to someone, we might gain their support and advocacy more than if we try to win them over with a powerful, persuasive argument. It would be wise for us to engage brain before brawn on this Friday. Whatever flare-ups might occur early on this Friday, things take a far more pleasant turn later in the day. We may be looking to get as much done as possible on this Friday in order to clear the decks for the weekend.

Saturday, May 18th – World of Confusion with Surprising Encounters – Sun, Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Neptune, Saturn, Venus, Uranus. Saturday is one ditzy day. The day begins with the Leo Moon square the Sun. The Moon then moves into Virgo and creates a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Neptune and the Moon square Mercury. Mercury squares Neptune today, and Venus sextiles Uranus. Late in the day, the Moon sextiles Saturn. As though we are working a 1,000 pieces puzzle, the pieces just may not seem to fit together today. We could be all over the place on this Saturday, following leads that take us nowhere except into a world of confusion. What we see and believe as reality may seem hazy at best. Our plans may go askew, and we might question what we are doing and why we are doing. If we follow in robotic formation, acting like an automaton based upon our plans, commitments or obligations for this day, we might miss some of the interesting encounters that seem to rise up out of the blue. We could be spinning in circles while the opportunities lie outside of the familiar, programmed and pre-planned. Today is a day when we might need to suspend judgment, be open to the magic of these times and act spontaneously rather than trying to force things to happen. If we would let go, we could be witness to and experience some mini-miracles of serendipitous occurrences. Whatever we choose to do today, whether we go the crazy-making route of going in circles in a world of confusion or we release our scheduled plans and go with the flow to encounter wondrous surprises, things straighten out towards the end of the day. We are back on track and letting the good times roll.

Sunday, May 19th – Moving Mountains, Shooing Away the Bees – Lunar Grand Trine, Pluto, Mars, Venus, Jupiter. Sunday is the last full day of the Sun’s transit of Taurus. Tomorrow, the Sun moves into Gemini and another piece of focused concentration is withdrawn in favor of the kaleidoscope of cascading thoughts, floods of ideas and a cavalcade of conversations. Ah, springtime, the time when we plant our seeds, step away to enjoy the exhilaration of blooms and blossoms, and ramp up our energy to take on more than we can humanly cope with. Sunday can be paradoxical. On the one hand, the Virgo Moon creates a Grand Trine in the Earth Element with the Moon trine Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon trine Mars in Taurus. On the other hand, the Moon squares both Venus and Jupiter in Gemini. If we got off on the wrong foot, headed down the wrong track yesterday without correcting our course, we could continue today being diverted and distracted from getting things done. That would be a shame, for on the other hand this day can be a highly productive day when we can virtually move mountains, attend to matters that have been perplexing and unresolved and make dramatic advances in regard to our goals and our ambitions. Much can be accomplished on this Sunday if we are not distracted and diverted by silly escapades. We can either talk the talk today or walk the walk. The former goes nowhere, the latter gets a great deal done. Our choice, always our choice.
