We might step off on the wrong foot as we start this week, or not step off at all. The week begins with us in a dreamy, moody state of mind. It might be idyllic or it might be anxious, but either way it is likely to be slightly delusional. We are in the dark side of the Moon to begin the week, and although we pick up some steam after the first yawns of Monday, we may not truly get going, or focused until the mid-week period.
We could call it ‘Spring fever’, or just a desire not to be constricted or constrained by either obligations or expectations. As the week progresses, we can gain some steam, but we are still concentrating on number one — ourselves.
The major thrust of energy and an influence for the following two weeks is Wednesday’s New Moon. Our interests may widen and our appetite for adventure stirred. We just have to watch that “our eyes are not bigger than our stomach.” We may feel optimistic, confident and enthusiastic about our prospects. But we might not be considering the conditions and circumstances in which we are operating nor taking into account the law of unintended consequences. Irrational exuberance could take hold and drive us down pathways that could eventually lead to dead ends and which might prove costly, both in time and monies. Due diligence, patience and a jaded eye would go a long way towards preventing us from falling down the rabbit hole of possibilities that seem probable in concept but might prove unrealistic in practice.
Have you noticed that social decorum, consideration of other people and win-win situations have gone by the boards recently? Too many interactions with other people could instill a misanthropic attitude as we witness everyone being self-focused and self-centered to the point of narcissism. Relationships can be a little dicey. The ability, or even the interest, to see things from someone else’s perspective is close to nil right now. The emphasis upon the Aries energy, highlighted by Wednesday’s Aries New Moon with five planets in Aries, can have us starting things up, pushing ahead aggressively and more interested in what is beyond our present reach than dealing with our daily routine. Such a disposition could be a prescription for disaster especially as we come towards the latter part of the month and the energies shift from Aries into Taurus with the Taurus-transiting planets opposing Saturn in Scorpio.
We may be impetuous, impulsive, spontaneous and ‘in the moment’ this week, but it would be wise for us to incorporate checks and balances into our decisions and our actions during the latter part of the week. We might find that we cannot do it all or have it all, so the question of prioritizing will become paramount.
The weekend has us all over the place. We may have gone through a weaning and pruning process towards the end of the week, but over the weekend we may be back at it, taking on more activities, wanting to sample this, try that, all with the belief that we should rightly have it all.
Monday, April 8th – Waiting for Godot – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday can start the week with a big ho-hum. We might have a hangover from the weekend, feel in need of further recuperation from the ‘slings and arrows of outrageous fortune’ that we may have encountered or witnessed over the recent days. The day begins with the Pisces Moon conjunct Mercury before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for close to fifteen hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before entering Aries later in the day. We may have scheduled plans, but much of our activity on this Monday can be geared more to straightening up, clearing out and getting rid of outstanding matters. We may be filing away those projects, situations and people that we realize no longer work for us. Although we might yawn into this Monday as we start the week, we get a rush of adrenalin later in the day. We may not know where to place our energy, but like a kid on a sugar high we could be highly active and tremendously distracted by whatever comes into our range of view. This is a day for us to put finishing touches on old issues and not to rush forward into new projects.
Tuesday, April 9th – Waiting for the Moonrise – Uranus, Pluto, Jupiter. Tuesday has the Moon triggering the Uranus Pluto square as the Aries Moon today conjuncts Uranus, the Moon squares Pluto and the Moon sextiles Jupiter. We may be feeling our oats today, willing to take on a quixotic journey of tilting against windmills, and feeling assertive to the point of being overly aggressive. While we might feel entitled, an endemic social disease prevalent in today’s society, we could also find ourselves banging up against standards and restrictions, responsibilities and expectations. Someone might be far more interested in taking us down a notch or two, or even throwing us down the stairwell, than creating a win-win, team effort situation. Everybody is a star, and today each star person is likely to be jockeying for position to the detriment of everybody else’s position. If we would keep things light and airy, then our threat to other people will not be acknowledged or seen. Today is a day for tai chi moves whereby we work with the energies, move in accord and not look to push our way through. We can advance our interests by being warm and fuzzy rather than brittle and hard. We are on the dark side of the Moon today, awaiting tomorrow’s New Moon. Not a great deal of lasting effect might occur today, but let’s keep from banging ourselves up or being assaulted by other people.
Wednesday, April 10th – Oh, Happy Days – Aries New Moon, Sun, Mars, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course. Spring may have started last month, but the true feel of Spring might not hit us until today. This Wednesday gives us the Aries New Moon with the Moon today conjunct the Sun, the Moon conjunct Mars and the Moon conjunct Venus. There are five planets in Aries. Not only might we feel as though we have been launched into turbothrust with full speed ahead. We could also be pontificating and righteous in regard to our decisions and our actions. We are looking at throwing wide our opportunities and engaging a massive expansion of our activities. We are feeling buoyant, optimistic, confident, enthusiastic, exuberant, and all to the max without much hesitation or consideration of the conditions and circumstances around us. Oh, happy days! While we may feel upbeat and as though nothing can go wrong, we might need to check the prescription in our rose-colored glasses. In truth, we might not be seeing clearly but could be blinded by the light. This energy influences the next two weeks, although the bloom can start to come off the rose towards the latter part of the month and especially around the Scorpio Full Moon on the 25th. That is then. Now is now, and in this now today we can be feeling on top of the world. The energy is strong for starting new projects, engaging new activities and justifying our position. People may be smarmy, overly ingratiating for us to support their impetuous actions. Narcissism can be at its peak, and we are likely to see that play out on the world stage with so many of our so-called ‘leaders’ being self-involved, self-righteous and narcissistic. If we can maintain a braking action on our own impulsiveness and take on a bemused attitude at the antics and foibles of humankind, we could avoid the pitfalls of egocentric behavior and evade feeling more and more like a misanthrope. After a major kickstart to the day with the Aries New Moon and the Stellium of five planets in Aries, the energy dies down as the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost eleven hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before entering Taurus later today, early Thursday.
Thursday, April 11th – Back on the Ground – Neptune, Saturn, Pluto. One of the beauties of these times, although we might not always consider it so, is the occasional reining in of our impulsiveness. We have this desire, even impulsion, to be different from the old definition of whom we have been. We want to be free, unique, quirky, a character and doing what we want to do, the way we want to do it and when we want to do it. While there are times when we might push the envelope, there are also times when either we get ourselves back into harness or are forced back on the ground. Thursday can be one of those days when we get more real and focus on what needs to be done. Today, the Taurus Moon sextiles Neptune, the Moon opposes Saturn and the Moon trines Pluto. This is a day when we may have to be resourceful, consider a best practices approach and deal with life by cutting to the core and getting lean and mean in our methodology. Our intuitive sense might give us a hunch or a feeling as to how best to proceed. Although our tendency could be to rely on old habit patterns, we are beginning to know better. The ‘tried and true’ may have been tried but is no longer true. Through focusing our attention on issues at hand, we can intuitively figure the most expeditious means to accomplish our goals. This is a day for us to prioritize and concentrate on the most important aspects of our daily lives. We can stretch a buck today, do more with less, and accomplish a great deal if we only take the time to devise a streamlined strategy and focus on the most meaningful.
Friday, April 12th – Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom – Pluto retrograde. The Moon continues its transit of Taurus but the Moon makes no aspects to the planets today. The major energy configuration, and major it is, is the shift in direction of Pluto as Pluto turns from direct motion to retrograde motion. This Pluto retrograde motion continues through the Spring and through the Summer, turning direct towards the latter part of September and just before we enter Autumn. Whenever Pluto shifts its direction, explosive incidents often occur. Bombings, crash and burns, volcanic eruptions, furious storm systems, earthquake activity are all possible incidents when Pluto shifts direction. In our own lives, many of the shifts and transformations that we might have put into place either by choice or by necessity since 2008 may have to be recalculated and reconfigured. Certain geopolitical and global financial issues could also come to the fore. Some of the solutions put into place may unravel or be seen as ‘same old, same old’. Already, we are seeing in the US certain repeat patterns being put into place that caused the initial financial crisis to begin with. As many have stated, those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. Evidently, we may be witness to the experience of ‘one more time’. The more we can clear away the dross and the extraneous, the stronger our foundation for our future and our lifestyle will be.
Saturday, April 13th – What About Me – Mercury, Neptune, Mercury Aries. Saturday begins with the Taurus Moon sextile Mercury. The Moon then moves into Gemini where today the Moon squares Neptune. Late in the day, early Sunday Mercury exits Pisces to enter Aries. This is not a day when we are likely to concentrate on one singular situation. Our interests today can be a myriad of activities, events and involvements. We may not stay at any one thing for a long time. On the contrary, our time spent in any one activity can be brief, for we are far more interested in trying many things today rather than focusing on a select few. We may not be totally clear about what we want to do today, but we are willing to go here, there and everywhere to explore, taste and sample as many things that we can fit into the day. Are we exhausted? Not necessarily so, since our investigations also provide clues about a new sense of our selves — our characteristics and the facets of our being. Too much information can create confusion so it would be wise to suspend judgment and engage the idea that variety is the spice of life. Let’s sample the spicy without committing for the long-term.
Sunday, April 14th – Adventure is Us – Uranus, Jupiter. Sunday continues with the Moon transiting Gemini. Today, the Moon sextiles Uranus and the Moon conjuncts Jupiter. Yesterday’s activities could be ramped up severalfold today. We are feeling upbeat about life, looking to investigate new areas that appeal to us. We all need time to jump off the track, and this weekend could be one when we step away from our regular routines and engage whatever catches our attention and comes our way. We are operating very zen-like today, ‘in the moment’, acting spontaneously and willing to take advantage of wondrous opportunities on the spur-of-the-moment. An exciting day, we can be talking up a storm and be filled with exuberance and good feelings. If we could bring other people into our fun circle today, we certainly shall. We are feeling too good not to spread our good cheer, whether in person, by phone or by texting. This Sunday completes a thrilling weekend when we can be all over the place and enjoying ourselves in doing so.
