Helter Skelter is a song recorded by The Beatles on The White Album, a prediction by Charles Manson of an apocalyptic racial war that tied into the Tate-LaBianca murders, and an apt description that could prove indicative of this week.
This week is highlighted on Tuesday by the Scorpio New Moon, a Solar Eclipse with retrograde Mercury square Neptune, just before Mercury retrogrades back into Scorpio.
There can be a great deal of confusion during this week. Many things could be occurring behind the scenes, out of sight but let’s not be totally out of mind. We may not have full information nor will there be full disclosure at this time.
It would be wise this week to take things slowly and cautiously, as if walking on eggshells. Appearances may not match reality. Statements might not be anywhere close to reality. This is a time for great caution, and with the recognition that this influence lasts the next two weeks and beyond. We are going to have to draw upon our higher sense faculties — our intuition and our insights, listening to our inner voice — to get any sort of gauge as to what is really going on.
The early part of the week could have us trying to figure things out, taking into account our resources and how they are likely to be impacted by various factors in the days ahead. Unfortunately, we could be making wild assumptions or drawing upon conjectures that have no basis other than our fantasies and our imagination. What we see may not be what we get. Think this could be crazy making? In deed it could, but only if we buy into the images, appearances, hype and suppositions without due diligence. This is a time for us to pull back the veil of maya to see what might be truly going on. I write ‘might be’ intentionally since we shall not have full information or the awareness of unexpected situations that could alter trajectories.
While we could be highly suspicious in the early part of the week, the mid-week period sees us ‘casting our fate to the winds’ and looking to expand our activities. We may be less concerned about the backdrop of reality, those things operating around us and in the larger world, and far more interested in what we want to do and how we want to do it. Even though we may disregard anxieties and concerns, it would be wise for us to advance new projects and new interests in a tentative manner, whereby if we have to change course or alter our approach we can do so without too much distress.
The latter part of the week and over the weekend can be a time for an autumnal cleanup, getting rid of the dross and focusing on the important aspects of our lives. There is a saying that ‘first the cup has to be emptied before it can be filled’, and we might use the latter part of this week and the early part of the weekend to empty the extraneous and superfluous from our lives.
We are likely to put our full weight behind our ambitions, those hopes and dreams we wish to realize. We may feel as though we are being guided, directed as if by some divine design or our own manifest destiny. We can be quite visionary and pursue our plans in a most streamlined and highly effective manner.
We need to be aware that our inclination will be to flip into fast forward. Once we convince ourselves of a particular direction, we are likely to go for it full speed ahead. If there are storm systems around, the precipitation can be intense with high levels of snow or rain.
This is a week when it is important for us to keep in mind, mantram-like, two of the keywords of these times: awareness and mindfulness.
Monday, November 12th – Great Intent, Focused Approach – Mars, Neptune, Saturn, Pluto. The week begins on this Monday with the Libra Moon sextile Mars. The Moon then moves into Scorpio where today the Moon trines Neptune, the Moon conjuncts Saturn, and the Moon sextiles Pluto. We may start the day fast out of the starting gate with a little help from our friends. Conversations over the weekend could have inspired us to move forward, engage new projects and expand our interests. We may feel as though there is no stopping us now, until the Moon moves into Scorpio. As it does so, we can become far more resourceful. We could have started the day with a major thrust. But as the day progresses we can fine tune our plans, devise a best practices approach and focus on the truly meaningful. Let’s keep in mind, however, that we are on the dark side of the Moon, the day before tomorrow’s New Moon and a Solar Eclipse. It would be wise for us to consider our intentions, devise our strategies but wait before fully implementing our new projects. We may not have full information, so this day is better served in the planning and also clearing the decks of matters that could impede our movement ahead.
Tuesday, November 13th – What It Is or Isn’t – Scorpio New Moon, Solar Eclipse, Sun, Mercury, Neptune. Not much is happening as we begin this day. We might have to deal with routine activities but we might also have the sense of a waiting game. Waiting for what we might not know, but we could have a feeling that something significant is about to occur. And occur it does. For this Tuesday has the Scorpio New Moon with the Moon Sun conjunction and a Solar Eclipse. We also have retrograde Mercury about to leave Sagittarius and retrograde back into Scorpio and today Mercury squares Neptune. Whatever is presented to us today may be more sleight-of-hand than the true reality of a situation. This is a day when we can be highly confused, dazed by presentations which all seem so grand as though the clouds have parted and the sun is shining brightly. A nice concept, but we have to be cautious that we are not seeing a mirage, seeing that which we hope for but in reality only an illusion or delusion. Issues around the home and with our family could become a primary focus over the next two weeks, which in the US incorporates Thanksgiving. No matter what is going on, and we might be perplexed to give a confident answer as to what is going on, it would be wise for us to take things with a grain of salt, not to buy wholly into our assumptions or our wishes, and to allow a tentative approach to whatever we might engage. Things can be squirrely. Tricksters may be on center stage. And our desires could overwhelm our rational analysis. This is a time for us to go slow, constantly evaluate and re-evaluate as we move forward and to never lose sight of the truth that we can always shift gears and alter our plans. A sense of loss could be part of this time frame and it would be important to keep in mind that when things are no longer productive in our lives either we choose to rid ourselves of them or the universe steps in to release them from our lives.
Wednesday, November 14th – Scrutinizing our Will, or the Universal Forces – Mercury, Neptune, Uranus, Mercury Scorpio. We may feel betwixt and between on this Wednesday, a day often referred to as the ‘hump’ day, coming as it does in the middle of the work week. Today, Mercury retrogrades back into Scorpio. The Scorpio Moon conjuncts Mercury before the Moon enters Sagittarius where the Moon squares Neptune and the Moon trines Uranus. We may have a sense of buyer’s remorse today. Some of our expansionary plans may seem to fall flat. Will we take notice and consider re-evaluating and changing our trajectory? Maybe or maybe not. Our will could get in the way of reasonable decisions and right actions. We could easily buy into a belief that if we want it so, so it will be. Once again, we may be tested to see whether we are still stuck in the old mindset of our ability to master conditions and steer situations solely in the direction we choose. The more we can let go and let the universe unfold naturally, the more wondrous opportunities can develop virtually out of nowhere. The question arises as to whether we need to master our universe or whether we can allow the universe to open the door to various magic and miracles. Even if we try and push forward, we may find that our resources are limited. If we let go of our preconceived notions, we might find that wondrous opportunities occur without our having to make them happen. Our choice, always our choice. This can be a magical day, a day when unexpected situations arise. We just have to get out of our own way, not shoot ourselves in the foot and be open to the serendipity of these times.
Thursday, November 15th – Too Much for One Person – Jupiter, Venus. Thursday continues with the Sagittarius Moon, which today has the Moon opposed Jupiter and the Moon sextile Venus. We may start the day as a gourmand, our appetites unsatiated, looking to take on more and more, expand our operations and a sense that enough is never enough. Yes, more is our focal point as we begin the day. While we could add on this project, that project, make more plans than we can humanly accomplish, we have to be careful that we don’t merely gloss over the details and neglect the specifics of our various activities. We may want to juggle, get back on the fast track, but our abilities to carry such a heavy load could easily lead to a feeling of overload. We might not be able to do it all and as we come towards the latter part of the day we might experience someone stepping forward and coming to our assistance. As the poet John Donne wrote so many years ago: ‘No man is an island, entire of itself’. The truth to that statement can be borne out today as our desire to take on as much as possible is relieved by someone coming forward and assisting us. We may talk the talk but unable to walk our talk. Someone can assist us in righting our wrongs, make us aware of how we can best accomplish our goals and still be an advocate for our goals and our dreams.
Friday, November 16th – From Intention to Action – Mars, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, Pluto, Mars Capricorn. We all know the saying: ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way’. Today, we can put into action some of our intentions, some of what we want to do. What we need to keep in mind, however, is the reality that we do not have to do it all. The universe is a magical force and more significant in our lives as we let go of control and allow synchronicity and serendipity to get ever more involved in our doing our lives. Friday begins with the Moon in Sagittarius conjunct Mars. We may be impassioned to develop our greatest desires and implement our grandest plans. We seem to get a burst of energy, a willingness to persevere no matter the circumstances and to fully develop our projects. From a sense of passion and determination, we then move into implementation. The Moon moves into Capricorn where today the Moon sextiles Neptune, squares Uranus, sextiles Saturn and conjuncts Pluto. We do not have to know the way, but we do have to be open to shifting and changing the ways we do things. Today is a day to avoid being too headstrong, too focused on how we want to achieve our goals and instead allow the universe to provide those clues of a best practices approach, whereby we shift and change according to conditions. As the day progresses, Mars exits Sagittarius and moves into Capricorn. We are ever more determined to realize our goals and achieve our passions. We are also far more focused on creating the best structure by which to accomplish our projects and utilizing the most expeditious means to do so.
Saturday, November 17th – Errands, Details and Plans – Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Neptune. Saturday can be a day when we breeze through whatever needs to be done. We may have our ‘to do’ list in hand and we can accomplish a great deal today. The Capricorn Moon today sextiles Mercury and the Moon squares Venus. Mars sextiles Neptune and the Sun conjuncts Mercury. We can virtually move mountains today, but we are not interested in foothills but rather significant projects to undertake. This is a day when our brain, brawn and intuition are all engaged. The more we can tie up loose ends, the more room we shall have for new interests and activities. We are looking to be resourceful, to get as much bang for our buck as possible, and to be effective with less expenditure of energy. Not only can we deal with the errands and details of outstanding matters, we can also contemplate what the next steps of our journey could be. We might have a sense of manifest destiny, where we want to put our energies and how we can best get to where we intend to go, but it would be wise to clear the path before we race forward. Our thoughts are focused, and we can concentrate on any number of involvements, taking things step by step and checking off items one by one on our ‘to do’ list.
Sunday, November 18th – Exciting Adventures with Good Friends – Sun, Uranus, Saturn. If we took care of what needs to be done over the past two days, then this Sunday can be quite an adventure. The Moon starts the day finishing its transit of Capricorn and as it does so, the Moon sextiles the Sun. The Moon then moves into Aquarius where the Moon sextiles Uranus and the Moon squares Saturn. We may be feeling full of wonder and excitement today. We might choose to do something quite unique and unconventional today, just as long as we can do it with a good friend in tow. We do have to keep track of our finances, for we could get involved in a grand adventure that comes with costs that just continue to build as we go along. But we may be deserving of a day like today. Shopping, eating and carousing can be great fun, and we are likely to engage without much consideration of the costs involved. Let’s have a good time with good friends but keep a check on our expenses.
