September 10th – 16th, 2012

We may be looking to make a splash this week. Presentations, image and appearance are all important as we make our case and project an iconoclastic, yet innovative, creative aspect of ourselves.

We do need to take care with details and specifics in order to back up our startling new ways of doing things. We do not want to be all pretty packaging with no contents or substance. The more we can do our due diligence before we make our case, the less likely we are to have to play catch-up and find the ways to justify our position.

This can be a highly effective week, especially if we work with peripheral vision, keep our antennae up and be open to sudden shifts and changes that could alter our trajectory and might lead us into exciting, albeit unexpected, pathways.

We start the week intent on taking care of business, dealing with the mundane affairs and addressing the particulars in any situation. We may be very conscious of all the pieces to the puzzle, but we have to avoid being overly self-critical or too demanding of ourselves. It is essential that we not get in our own way nor allow any blockages or frustrations to defeat us.

Persistence is called for with a strong dose of diplomacy. Let’s keep in mind the old saying that ‘you can catch more bees with honey than vinegar’.

We can be entertaining, charming and ingratiating, but we might have to play the accommodation card and do the dance with other people without being narcissistic and overly tooting of our own horn. By imaging that we are in an orchestra with other players involved, we can get what we want by playing to people’s interests and creating win-win scenarios.

The mid-part of the week can have us soaring with the eagles. Exciting and unanticipated doors may open to us. The mid-week period is a time for us to have our eyes wide open and our ears pricked up, for certain thrilling surprises can occur suddenly and unexpectedly. Magic is in the air with various mini-miracles providing opportunities and new directions for us to consider.

The end of the week and over the weekend may be punctuated by dealing with various commitments and by taking care of necessary details we might have glossed over when we were on center stage earlier in the week making our presentations, offering our promises.

The weekend is highlighted by the Virgo New Moon. With a T-Square by Sign in the Mutable Signs we might find the next two weeks a time of juggling many varied activities with a helter-skelter approach or preferably going from one thing to another with a focus more on process rather than quick resolution. The next fortnight may have us playing the xylophone, quickly hitting various notes, which would resonate and be more successful than only trying to play the one note Samba. If we can become aware of our productive time cycle, no matter how long or how short it may be, then we can work with time in a qualitative manner rather than concentrating on the quantitative measure. We could find ourselves far more productive and highly effective in everything we do.

Monday, September 10th – Another Manic Monday – Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus, Sun, Mercury, Mars. Monday begins the week with us focused on what we need to do according to our schedule and our committed plans. The Sun conjuncts Mercury and the Moon transiting Cancer creates a T-Square with the Moon opposed Pluto and the Moon square Uranus. The Moon also trines Mars. Although we might have an idea as to what we need to do, and much of it can revolve around our normal everyday tasks, this Monday could throw us some curveballs that knock us off our intended course of action. Even if we get knocked for a loop early in the day, we can pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and start all over again [to paraphrase the lyrics from ‘Pick Yourself Up’ from the 1936 film Swing Time starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers]. By focusing on what needs to be done and devising a best practices approach, we can handle both the curveballs and our normal responsibilities quickly and with due diligence. Let’s keep in mind that awareness and mindfulness can pre-empt any major problems and then we can engage flexibility and adaptability to deal with both the intended and the unexpected. This Monday may start off manic, but we could find the right tempo and then move forward in a determined and focused manner.

Tuesday, September 11th – Tending to the Home Fires – Sun, Mercury, Saturn. Tuesday is the anniversary of the terrorist attack on the US. This day has the Cancer Moon sextile both the Sun and Mercury and the Moon square Saturn. There can be a great deal of remembrances today, walks down Memory Lane and focus on home and family matters. We may be rather emotional with wide mood swings. We do have to avoid seeing the half glass of water as half empty and carping on other people’s frailties or being overly critical of our own. Today is a day to be kind to ourselves and to other people, cutting everyone some slack. This is a day when we might want to tidy up around our living and work spaces, put finishing touches on any personal makeovers and recognize that we can be easily influenced by what is going on in the world. During these times, it is important that we have a sanctuary for ourselves, a place where we can go to be nurtured, revived and feel comforted and inspired. Whether that space be a physical place or an imaginary happy place, let’s be good to ourselves by having that quiet, nurturing space. Although we can be highly compassionate today, there is a fine line between service and self-sacrifice, and we need to hew to that line where we assist other people without being taken advantage of.

Wednesday, September 12th – That Rosy Glow –Venus, Uranus, Mars. It’s not exactly night and day, but this Wednesday is in sharp contrast to yesterday. Yesterday had the emotions and mood swings to the extreme. If we plummeted to fathomless depths yesterday, this Wednesday could have us flying high. Today, the Moon is in Leo and conjuncts Venus, trines Uranus and squares Mars. We can be upbeat, looking at showing ourselves off in the best light and interested in exciting new adventures. Today and tomorrow are great days to try something new, something different and enjoy the spontaneity of ‘being in the moment’. On these two days, there is something about us. Call it a rosy glow or a magnetic attraction, but we could be presenting ourselves in a most appealing manner. Although the energy is very upbeat and allows us to put our best foot forward, we may be so enamored by the unexpected opportunities that arise that we forego due diligence. Our work could be a little shoddy and we might skip over details. If we can put the brakes on occasionally, re-evaluate now and again, then we can enjoy the serendipity of this day without dropping a stitch. Magic is afoot. We just have to keep our antennae up, work with peripheral vision and be open to surprising opportunities.

Thursday, September 13th – Take Me Away to Idyllic Fields – Venus, Uranus, Jupiter. Wednesday and Thursday of this week could prove to be magical times, serendipitous contacts and mini-miracles galore. Does it get better than this? It’s hard to imagine that it could do so. Yesterday, the Moon was the trigger point. Today, Venus trines Uranus. The Moon in Leo sextiles Jupiter. Our creativity could be strong now and we might engage a personal makeover, looking to make changes to our appearance, our wardrobe, and our style of living. We can be innovative, iconoclastic and keeping scintillating company. This is an exciting day, one that could allow us to get carried away to a state of euphoria. While this day could be close to idyllic with wonderful surprises, let’s keep in mind cycles. As good as today and yesterday might be, that doesn’t mean that we are in nirvana-land for the rest of our lives. No, let’s enjoy today and yesterday, take advantage of the mini-miracles that come our way, but let’s not overextend ourselves or assume that the way it is now is the way it will always be. We can start new projects but we will need to maintain a sense of groundedness and not be swept up by irrational exuberance.

Friday, September 14th – Takin’ It to the Streets – Saturn, Neptune, Pluto. Friday starts with the Leo Moon sextile Saturn and then the Moon moves into Virgo where the Moon opposes Neptune and trines Pluto. The last two days may have been a very happy and healthy respite from our daily mundane reality. Friday may have us back on track, focusing on what needs to be done. As long as we can be centered, concentrate on the most meaningful projects in our lives and not get distracted by fantastic possibilities that could truly be impossibilities, then we can be highly productive, expeditious and cut to the core. We can achieve a lot today in regard to getting things done and moving our significant affairs ahead. Let’s not dilly-dally on the superfluous. Yesterday and the day before may have seemed like gifts from the gods, but today is a time for us to get back to what needs to be done with the ability for us to virtually move mountains.

Saturday, September 15th – Enter the Master Juggler – Mars, Jupiter, Virgo New Moon, Sun. Saturday has the Virgo Moon sextile Mars, square Jupiter and conjunct the Sun at the time of the Virgo New Moon. With its influence on the next two weeks, this Virgo New Moon could allow for a reasoned approach with an opportunity to evaluate what we might have involved ourselves with earlier in the month. We can develop presentations that are impressive with every detail fine-tuned and neatly in place. Now would also be a good time for us to prepare for the autumn ahead with the recognition that the coming season may continue the volatility of these times with a significant Sign change with Saturn exiting Libra after two and a half years and about to enter Scorpio for two and a half years as we come into October. [Surprise!]. From our persistence and our determination, we might feel that we can virtually turn water into wine. While we can accomplish a great deal and can be very resourceful in our approach, we might get too taken with our abilities and willing to take any thing and every thing on. It would be wise for us to be judicious with our resources — our time, our energy, our finances. We could easily assume that we can do more than would be humanly reasonable. Let’s take things step by step, add activities to our ‘to do’ list but without overwhelming ourselves.

Sunday, September 16th – Niceties Without Full Appreciation – Mercury, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus, Mercury Libra. The day begins with the Virgo Moon conjunct Mercury. The Moon then moves into Libra where it creates a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Libra Moon squares Pluto and the Moon opposes Uranus. Mercury enters Libra. This Sunday can be very much about other people. Our plans might be impacted by other people’s needs or someone could be standing in our way. Someone could be throwing monkey wrenches into the spokes of our wheels today. While we have to be flexible and adaptable, let’s also realize that there are times that no matter how much we do for someone they could always expect more. If we can do the tai chi moves whereby we weave and dodge to someone else’s actions or discussions, then we could avoid getting entangled in other people’s issues. We may want to be diplomatic, charming and accommodating but accommodating does not mean capitulating. We may need to take care of ourselves since someone might be more interested in taking advantage of us.
