July 23rd – 29th, 2012

After what might have been a fairly intense week this past week, this week seems to be upbeat with some surprising opportunities and revealing insights. This is a week for us to work with peripheral vision, to act spontaneously on the spur of the moment, and to allow ourselves to follow whatever captures our fancy.

It’s summertime and this is the first full week of the Sun’s transit through Leo, where the Sun is at home in the regal Fixed Fire Sign. We may be looking for some good times with good friends, but we may also be engaging a sense of adventure. ‘Same old, same old’ really won’t cut it for us this week. We are far more interested in the thrilling and the exciting. We may feel stale from our routine and could seek to engage the new, the different and the innovative.

The week can be slow starting, some of which might be as a result of our being a little reticent, even hesitant, due to whacks on the side of the head we might have encountered this past week. But no matter how slow starting this week might seem, things suddenly pop in the early part of the week with unexpected situations opening doors that we could barely have imagined for ourselves.

Our creative juices are flowing and we might experience those serendipitous moments whereby we find ourselves in the right place at the right time for some surprising and wonderful incidents. We get a second wind, as we look in new directions and focus on fun, enlivening events.

We do have to be wary not to go overboard, whether the overboard is committing ourselves to too many activities or spending too much on our good times.

Towards the latter part of the week we might have to rein in our appetites. We may even experience a sharp slowdown in the energies. The early burst of excitement and thrilling surprises could give way to a culling and paring down. We can be more resourceful and take time to truly contemplate where to place our energies and how to place our energies in order to get the most bang for our buck.

The weekend has us stretching our wings, even to the point of getting out of Dodge, traveling and expanding our perspective. We want to broaden our vistas, explore new possibilities but it would be wise for us to keep a check on our expenses.

All in all, this week is a very pleasant week, but also a week when the volatility is ratcheted up. Any respite towards the latter part of the week might allow us to catch our breath before we get back on the fast spinning carousel of summertime pleasures.

Monday, July 23rd – No Manic Monday Today – Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn. This past week could have had us running fast and furious. Various situations may have arisen that were not only perplexing but downright challenging as well. If we escaped this past week unscathed, then we should consider ourselves highly lucky. This week is not as intense as last week and instead of various perilous situations, this week provides some happy surprises with serendipity in play. The week begins with this Monday and the Moon Void-of-Course with the Moon Void-of-Course having begun yesterday and going on for close to twenty-two hours as the Moon makes no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Virgo and before entering Libra late on Monday. There is not a great deal of energy to get things done on this Monday. We may feel as though we are procrastinating, but things just might not be firing on all cylinders. And certainly we are unlikely to be doing so. As the day progresses and the Moon enters Libra, the Moon sextiles the Sun. We could then devise plans to get together with friends, make special arrangements for some fun events, and feel as though we are back on the track.

Tuesday, July 24th – Good Time Charlie – Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars. Tuesday begins with one of those hiccups — or liable to be a whack on the side of the head — that we should have become used to. Intensity Redux!, as we deal with the Uranus Pluto square again. This Uranus Pluto square was more intense last week, thanks to the Mars Libra transit creating the Cardinal Sign T-Square with Mars opposed Uranus and Mars square Pluto. This T-Square is operational through the next two weeks, thanks to its influence at the time of last week’s New Moon, with occasional triggers to irritate it. Irritating it today is happening due to the Libra Moon creating the Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Pluto and the Moon opposes Uranus. This configuration occurs early in the day, so we may find that our plans and schedule for the day are unexpectedly upset by other people’s needs or pressing demands. We may feel as if we are getting off on the wrong foot on this Tuesday. If we do not obsess over any delays or frustrations early in the day, then these impediments could be short-lived and swept away as the day progresses. For, as the day wears on, a new, uplifting energy steps forward. The Libra Moon trines Jupiter, sextiles Mercury and conjuncts Mars. Mercury sextiles Jupiter, to be followed tomorrow by Mercury trine Uranus. While things today could have started on a sour note, a little sharp, possibly falling flat, things change significantly. We suddenly feel more upbeat, more confident, more inspired and quite possibly as a result of the company we keep. We are not interested in devoting much time to those who are constantly needy, who see the glass of water as only half empty. We want to engage those people who are walking on the sunny side of the street, looking for good times with good friends and who know the half glass of water to be half full. Let’s keep in mind that attitude is a major part of the game and a large determinant in regard to how things are likely to unfold. We may be looking to participate in some fun events, even willing to put our responsibilities on the back burner. And why not? It’s summertime and while summers are not what they once were, we can still enjoy ourselves, relax and re-create in pleasurable summertime activities. En joy!

Wednesday, July 25th – Right Place, Right Time – Venus, Mercury, Uranus, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. Wednesday has the Moon in Libra trine Venus and conjunct Saturn. Mercury trines Uranus. This Wednesday can be an especially pleasant day and may not go according to plan. Interactions with other people can be exciting and insightful. We could bump into people who have important information to provide us. As if we are on a scavenger hunt, significant clues can offer us new trajectories or different ways of doing things in a more streamlined manner. The sense of serendipity and synchronicity is in the air. We do not have to make things happen but we do need to keep our antennae up and work with peripheral vision. Magic and mini-miracles are afoot. If we have been perplexed by problems or by issues recently, this day could offer some fascinating resolutions and revelatory answers. This is a day when we could find ourselves in the right place at the right time. Tuesday and Wednesday are two special days, days when we are feeling good, exuberant, enthusiastic and confident and open to the adventure of the unexpected and unanticipated that could prove far better than anything we have imagined for ourselves. As Wednesday progresses, the energy dies down significantly. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for eleven hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Libra and before entering Scorpio. Let’s keep in mind that these recent weeks are punctuated by volatility between high energy and low energy, times when it’s hot, it’s hot and when it’s not, it’s not

Thursday, July 26th – Winding Down – Neptune, Sun, Pluto, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course. Late Wednesday, early Thursday has the Moon in Scorpio and early Thursday the Scorpio Moon trines Neptune, sextiles Pluto and squares both the Sun and Mercury in Leo. We can be incredibly resourceful today, figure out the most expeditious manner in which to do things and advance our dreams closer to reality. What we have to be wary of is grandstanding. While we could be more productive and effective by holding our cards close to our chest and just doing what needs to be done, any tendency to blow our own horn could be taken as our being self-involved and self-centered. If we have a lot on our plate planned for today, we might consider cutting back on some activities. Even engagements that we thought might be great fun could turn out to be real duds. Today is a day for us to conserve — conserve our energy, conserve our finances and conserve our involvements. If things don’t speak to us on a very deep level, why would we go there? There is little time to waste on the superfluous and the non-meaningful. We might even choose to do some cleaning up, straightening things up and clearing things out. As the day progresses, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost thirty-eight hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Scorpio and before entering Sagittarius late on Friday, early Saturday.

Friday, July 27th – In the Still of the Night, and Day – Moon Void-of-Course. The Void-of-Course Moon that began yesterday continues through today. The Moon is in Scorpio but making no aspects to the planets as it finishes its transit of Scorpio and before entering Sagittarius late today, early Saturday. This Friday is a day when we may take on a more introspective nature. We might be contemplating what we are doing and why we are doing it. We might be more interested in culling, paring down and getting rid of instead of accumulating, adding to or engaging too many things. Not much is happening today and what is happening could be occurring more below the surface. So much for transparency today! Everyone may be slightly intense, keeping to themselves but like a powder keg ready to blow if their fuse is lit. Let’s kick back today, have few expectations and just concentrate on what we need to be rid of. As a wise saying states: ‘the cup has to be emptied before it can be filled’.

Saturday, July 28th – Here, There and Everywhere – Neptune, Lunar Grand Trine, Sun, Mercury, Uranus, Lunar T-Square, Jupiter. If we didn’t catch our breath yesterday, perhaps we should have, for this Saturday could have us up and running. The direction may be irrelevant, even if we’re just going around in circles. This day is quite a mix. The Sun conjuncts Mercury, and the Moon in Sagittarius creates a Grand Trine in the Fire Element with the Moon trine both the Sun and Mercury in Leo and the Moon trine Uranus in Aries. The Moon also creates a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Sagittarius Moon square Neptune in Pisces and the Moon opposed Jupiter in Gemini. We could be all over the place today, going here, there and everywhere. We are interested in fun today but we could also be looking for fun in all the wrong places. It would be wise for us to take a moment, give thought as to what we want to do and not assume that we can do it all. The greatest opportunities today could be stretching beyond our normal parameters, taking advantage of surprising developments but keeping a tight rein on our wallet and credit cards. We could be slightly indulgent today, allowing ourselves to be extravagant and excessive. While spontaneity is a healthy thing, as is getting out of Dodge, let’s try to be clear about what we are doing and where we are going. Otherwise, we could be like a dog chasing its tail, excited and involved but getting nowhere. We also have the liability of believing our own assumptions and not being open to input other than that which we wish to hear. Today is a day for fun, spontaneity and embracing a joie de vivre. But we might want to remind ourselves now and again of the title to a classic song from the roaring ‘20’s [1927]: The Best Things in Life Are Free.

Sunday, July 29th – Special Times – Mars, Venus, Saturn. Sunday concludes the week with the Sagittarius Moon, which today sextiles both Mars and Saturn in Libra with the Moon also opposed Venus in Gemini. This Sunday we might choose to spend some special time with that special someone in our life. We may decide to go for a drive, go to the seashore, or explore the wide open spaces. Not that we need unfamiliar terrain in which to enjoy quality moments with that significant someone. We might feel expansive and wanting to share our exuberance with someone else. This is a good day to talk about uplifting matters, to show our appreciation to other people and generally come from an attitude of gratitude. No matter what could be going on in our lives, this Sunday is a day to look beyond the immediate and take a gander at the opportunities and possibilities, which might be awaiting us further down the line. A nice weekend for us to get away, indulge ourselves but all with a willingness to be open to the magic of the moment.
