June 11th – 17th, 2012

This week starts off with a bang, a boom and a bust. There seems to be a wild intensity during the early part of the week. We may be all over the place, looking here, searching there, but quite uncomfortable wherever we find ourselves. The extremes of energy can have us champing at the bit one moment and then totally fatigued the next. People may feel a little defensive and too willing to draw lines in the sand or throw down the gauntlet. Sidestepping problems, not engaging heated discussions that could readily turn into belligerent arguments, would be the wisest course of action.

Tai chi moves are called for early in the week, being aware of the energy and then working it so that we don’t get hurt or bruise ourselves.

Let’s realize that we might not be thinking straight as we start the week. There might just be too much information with us feeling bombarded by all sorts of input, none of which seems to connect the dots.

‘Time out!’ might be our cry in the early part of the week, but we may not be able to take time out until we get to the proverbial hump day of the work week, Wednesday.

Monday and Tuesday could have us flying, not soaring, but flying with some people evidently unable to steer correctly and possibly being out of control. If we can slow things down, that could work wonders. But slowing things down on Monday and Tuesday may prove unlikely. Not only do we have a whipsaw of energy, and then no energy, but we have various unexpected situations arising that could keep us hopping.

As we come to the mid-week period and the latter part of the week and over the weekend, things seem to slow down or at least move at a far more manageable pace.

This is a week for us to sow our wild oats, begin various projects, but all with a thought that our actions may be tentative at best and reworked or walked away from later in the week. Initial thrusts can be an attempt to let off steam with little lasting effect.

Later in the week, we can slow things down, focus on the more meaningful interests and develop our projects in a methodical, well-considered plan of action.

Monday, June 11th – Stumbling Along – Lunar T-Square, Mars, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury T-Square, Uranus, Pluto, Jupiter Gemini. This Monday lives up to its oft-named ‘Manic Monday’. Late Sunday night, early Monday morning, we could be all over the place as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces by creating a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Mars and the Moon square Sun. There could be no winning at this one, since people can be coming from a severely emotional space, unable to reason, much less see clearly what is going on. Are we overtired, overwhelmed, or just in one of those emotional funks when we feel that the world is dead set against us? Wherever we are coming from, it would be smart for us to tone down our emotional reactions. People can be extremely moody, attribute deep-seated conflicts to unintended slights, and act in the most irrational of ways. Our sensitivities are spiked, but our clarity could be lacking. Let’s try and avoid taking any thing too personally. Our sleep state might not be the greatest to meet the morning hours. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seventeen and a half hours as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before entering Aries. While normally the energy dies down with a Void-of-Course Moon, not so on this Monday. Mercury in Cancer also creates a T-Square, this one a Cardinal Sign T-Square as Mercury squares Uranus and Mercury opposes Pluto. A ‘fight or flight’ tendency could be floating around in our heads, although if we take flight, let’s consider avoiding air travel, since the Mercury Uranus square is my least favorite air travel aspect. We may feel put upon by some of the conversations, or actions, that have gone on recently. We may be mulling over Oscar Wilde’s well-known statement that ‘for people with good taste, revenge is best served cold’. If we have felt offended by someone, we could be considering various ways to show them up or one-up them. Conversations could become heated, all with the sense that a ‘strong offense is a good defense’. This Monday can certainly have us stumbling along. To add to the conundrum, we have Jupiter ending its year-long passage through Taurus and entering Gemini today for its year-long transit of the Mercury-ruled Mutable Air Sign. The potential productivity offered by the Earth Grand Trine since last mid-November comes to an end as Jupiter exits Taurus and enters Gemini. Jupiter in Gemini is not especially comfortable, being in its detriment, opposite to its ruling Sign of Sagittarius. Talk will be plentiful and likely to be on many subjects but without much substance or merit. Talk is cheap and incessant and possibly not dealing with facts or reality but rather hype and spin. The snake oil salespeople will be out in full force, so let’s maintain our awareness and our mindfulness and take nothing at face value or expressed promises.

Tuesday, June 12th – Ramping it Up with No Place to Go – Jupiter, Uranus, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Mercury, Venus. Tuesday can be a continuation of yesterday’s intensity, although today we might be coming from a far less emotional stance and more from a self-assertive, ‘ME’ time quality. The Moon in Aries today is highly active, beginning with the Moon sextile Jupiter, the first trigger of the Jupiter Gemini transit. The Moon conjuncts Uranus and creates a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Aries Moon square Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon square Mercury in Cancer. The Moon also sextiles Venus. We may have the energy today to launch a thousand boats, or more, and the gift of gab to persuasively make our case, at least to ourselves, thereby fueling the fires of our ambitions. We may want to emphasize our uniqueness, our autonomy and our ability to initiate on this Tuesday. Like a bull in a china shop, we may throw ourselves into high gear without much consideration to the conditions or circumstances in which we find ourselves. ‘Full speed ahead’ may be our cry, but our itinerary, even our direction, could prove faulty. No matter, for we are more interested in pushing ahead without much consideration of what and where we are pushing. Even if we meet obstacles, we are more likely to try and push past the impediments rather than finesse our way by them. While there could be a good deal of banging and crashing on this Tuesday, maybe we just need to let off a good head of steam on this Monday and Tuesday. Towards the latter part of the day, we can start to make ‘nice’, be more considerate of other people’s interests and even be more receptive as to how we are dealing with situations and their impact upon other people. The intense self-drive of Monday and Tuesday can start to shift whereby we start to realize that we are not islands unto ourselves but rather a social animal dealing with other people in our community, people who have their own set of desires, plans and goals.

Wednesday, June 13th – Getting a Grip on the Real World – Sun, Saturn. After a rambunctious two days to start the week, Wednesday slows things down or, at the very least, allows us to be far more conscious of what is going on around us and how our actions are impacting, and impacted by, the people in our lives. The Sun trines Saturn, the Aries Moon opposes Saturn and the Moon sextiles the Sun. We seem far more mature, more considerate today, less likely to go off impulsively and impetuously, as we might have done over the past two days. Wednesday allows us to get a grip on things. Although we may have someone who questions our actions or our plans, their questioning would also allow a good sounding board and a tempering of our intentions and our itinerary. Even if we feel thwarted, we may rely on a trusted source for sound advice. We may feel amidst the turbulence of these times a newfound strength within ourselves and may gain an appreciation from someone for our determination. If things have gone haywire over the past few days, today allows us to straighten things out, slow things down, and take things step by step.

Thursday, June 14th – Quiet Times for Reveries – Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune. Much of this Thursday seems like things are operating in slow motion, if operating at all. Compared to the first part of the week, we may wonder where all the noise, excitement and people have gone. Everything may seem muted today. We still have the Moon in Aries for much of this day, but the Moon is Void-of-Course for over thirteen hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit and before entering Taurus, where late in the day the Taurus Moon sextiles Neptune. While we might have been in high gear, turbo thrust, at the beginning of the week, we could feel stalled out or just waiting for things to shift on this day. Our thoughts may be far distant, considering vacation plans and far more interested in things far beyond our daily existence with little thought to our routine matter, much less our responsibilities. We could be taking a ‘mental health’ day today, not worrying about what we need to do as much as lost in our reveries and our consideration of what we could do in a perfect world. Although we might step off the track today, contemplation could lead us to consider a best practices approach to accomplish our goals. We might be more willing to take a step-by-step process rather than the jumping ahead that we might have engaged to begin the week. This is a day for us to catch our breath, take off our blinders and work with peripheral vision, and allow our intuition to come up with the most expeditious means to move our projects ahead. Let’s make our ‘to do’ list of those projects and errands we wish to accomplish over the next two days.

Friday, June 15th – Gentle Persuasion – Pluto, Mercury. Although Friday is often a wind-down day, a day when we embrace the sentiment of T.G.I.F. [‘thank goodness it’s Friday’] and focus on the weekend ahead with plans of relaxation and good times, and ever more so in the summer; this Friday and Saturday could prove the most productive days of this week. The Taurus Moon today triggers an Earth Grand Trine. Since last November, we have had an Earth Grand Trine by Sign in place, thanks to Jupiter transiting Taurus, Mars transiting Virgo and Pluto transiting Capricorn. This Grand Trine ended as of this past Monday when Jupiter exited Taurus to enter Gemini. Thanks to the Moon coming through Taurus, the Earth Grand Trine is created again, with the Moon today trine Pluto and the Moon trine Mars tomorrow. The Moon also sextiles Mercury today. We have the passion and determination to move mountains today. We are not looking to bulldoze our way to our promised land, for the Moon sextile Mercury gives us the ability to make our argument for our case and win adherents to our cause. This is a day when we no longer have to rattle cages to win our way. Instead, we can use the art of gentle persuasion to gain our advantage. Not only can we be expeditious in our approach to matters, but we can also convince other people of the validity of our plans and the solidity of our strategy to achieve our aims. We can get a great deal done today and tomorrow, and we can do so without ruffling any feathers. Friday and Saturday this week are days when we can achieve more in a shorter period of time than usual.

Saturday, June 16th – Errands and Our ‘To Do’ List – Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. If we utilized Thursday to create a list of things we want to accomplish, then yesterday and today could have us easily checking off the items on our ‘to do’ list. Today, we continue with the Earth Grand Trine, thanks to the transit of the Moon through Taurus. Yesterday, the Moon trined Pluto in Capricorn and today the Taurus Moon trines Mars. By having our list, checking it twice, we can take care of a large number of errands, get things out of the way and prepare ourselves for juggling new interests and new activities tomorrow as the Moon comes into Gemini. But first, we have this Saturday and a day when we can be highly productive and incredibly effective. It would be wise for us to get in gear early in the day, since the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over seventeen hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Taurus and before entering Gemini. We can keep our head down and just tick off one errand after another. We might prefer just having some down time and enjoying ourselves, but this Friday and Saturday allow us to accomplish a great deal. There will be times of partying and having a good time, but the beauty of astrology is working with the energies as they unfold, with the recognition that ‘timing is everything’. The timing today is to get as much done as we possibly can, but it would be important that we are committed to doing so in the early morning hours. Otherwise, we might find ourselves unfocused and spinning our wheels for much of this Saturday. Why lose the opportunity when Friday and Saturday can be so highly successful with the mundane matters of our lives?

Sunday, June 17th – Here, There & Everywhere – Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus, Venus. Sunday is Father’s Day, a day when we celebrate the Dads in our lives. This Sunday also has the Moon in Gemini, which today conjuncts Jupiter, squares Neptune, sextiles Uranus and conjuncts Venus. This can be a highly pleasant day. We are looking for the new and the different and feeling good about the adventure of life. We may feel as though we are on a scavenger hunt, with various clues and unexpected events opening up to us. Like a scavenger hunt, we might misinterpret some of the clues and wind up going down dead ends or engaging activities that lead nowhere. No worries though, since this day is not a day when we are likely to spend too long on any one interest. No, we are far more interested today in the juggling aspect, and willing to throw more balls up in the air, even if we realize that we might drop one or two during the process of our juggling. This can be a highly social day when we get together with friends and family and also interact in serendipitous ways with some interesting folk along the way. A highly pleasant day this Sunday and ever more so if we let go our expectations and our assumptions as to the ways things should run. Magic is in the air, and we might encounter some wonderful surprises as we go along today.
