‘Out with the old, in with the new’ could be the motto of this week, for this week we enter the season of Spring, the beginning of the astrological New Year as the Sun ends its cycle through the zodiac wheel, exits Pisces and enters Aries, the Cardinal Fire Sign and the first sign of the zodiac. The Aries Stellium of three or more planets in the Cardinal Fire Sign that we had earlier in the month is re-created with the Sun joining Mercury and Uranus in Aries.
Spring has sprung, and we may be concentrating on the renaissance that the season promises. Change, autonomy and launching forward with projects that speak to us and allow us to stretch our wings are all in the works. We may be impulsive, spontaneous, but all with a sense of new beginnings and initiations reflective of the changes we are seeking to incorporate into our lives.
There is a great deal of movement this week, and the movement may at times feel like hip-hop, other times like the Texas two-step. Whatever the rhythm, the dance is on, but we may feel torn between where we have been and a whole new trajectory into the unknown.
We may feel a little melancholy at the start of the week, our emotions raw, as we think back on what has been. Maybe we are just remembering past incidents as a prelude of our letting go of the past and entering the dawning of a brand new day.
And certainly new days are what we are aching for. We are not as interested in a long-term projection as much as just launching forward. We may be like little children, struck by the awe and wonder of new surprises and thrilling possibilities. We might feel like nothing is impossible, and that we have encountered a carousel of marvelous delights. And we are certainly ready to ride the carousel.
The early part of the week has us betwixt and between Winter and Spring. We may see it in the weather, the variables in temperatures and climate conditions. We could feel it in ourselves, as we reminisce and think back, all the while aching to move forward. We might have a sense that we are obligated to certain situations but wishing to be free to explore and investigate unencumbered and not entangled.
Our reflections can be lost as we move further into the week. With the Aries New Moon on the 22nd, in numerology the master number of the master builder, we are far more focused on testing the waters, trying things out and all the things that would provide us greater freedom of movement, the opportunity to express our individuality and the promise to BE.
Over the weekend, we may want to make concrete some of our new found desires, give greater form to our wishes and make manifest some of the ideas that have sparked inside us and have given us a sense of rebirth and renewal.
An interesting week this one is, for we may leave behind the Winter doldrums and engage the opportunities of limitless possibilities.
Monday, March 19th – Compassion Engaged – Saturn, Neptune. Monday begins with the Moon finishing its transit of Aquarius with a trine to Saturn. We can have significant interactions with a special someone in our lives. The depth of connection could be startling as we realize what a proponent we have in them for our plans and our intentions. There could be important discussions both about the trajectory of our future goals and also about the meaningfulness of our friendship. We may reach out to someone with whom we have had little contact just to indicate how important they are in our lives. As the day progresses, the Moon exits Aquarius to enter Pisces where the Moon conjuncts Neptune. Our emotions can deepen with us feeling every little thing. Our sensitivity is turned up severalfold and our compassion fully engaged. Whatever our schedule might be for this Monday, we are likely to go out of our way to take care of someone else’s needs. We may also be doing a great deal of sighing, trying to bring things to closure with the recognition that today is the last day of the Sun’s transit of Pisces, the end of this astrological year with tomorrow promising a new beginning, a new year as the Sun enters Aries at the time of the Vernal Equinox and we move from Winter into Spring.
Tuesday, March 20th – Spring has Sprung – Sun Aries, Mars, Pluto, Jupiter. Late on Monday, early on Tuesday, we enter the season of Spring. The Vernal Equinox occurs as the Sun moves into Aries. Although we are champing at the bit to initiate, launch and start up, we might also find that we still have past matters to contend with and bring to completion. The Moon continues its transit of Pisces and in so doing the Moon opposes Mars, sextiles Pluto and sextiles Jupiter. Although we can easily tie up loose ends today, it would also be important for us not to make assumptions or believe that we can gloss over matters without checking the details and being certain that we have covered the specifics. We may be wanting to get on with our Springtime projects, but we could also be feeling the pull of the past, situations that need to be resolved and either completed or gotten rid of. We are in the volatility of seasonal change, both with the actual climatological season change but also bringing up thoughts of the seasonal changes in our own lives, those times of ending one phase of life and crossing the threshold into a new phase of life.
Wednesday, March 21st – Best Foot Forward – Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Mercury. Wednesday continues with the Moon in Pisces which today sextiles Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over twenty-five hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Pisces and before entering Aries tomorrow. The Sun conjuncts Mercury. There is not a great deal of energy on this Wednesday. Perhaps we are feeling the push pull between our past and our future. Our focus today may be more along the lines of personal makeovers, focusing on what we want, who we want to be and how best to present ourselves. This day could be a little narcissistic and our attention might be more on ourselves and our personal world than other people or the world at large. This could be a ME day. We are looking at putting our best foot forward and seeking to get approval and appreciation from… ourselves. There is not a great deal of energy today. We are in the dark side of the Moon, the day before the New Moon. This is a day far better served looking in the mirror, enjoying the reflection and readying for the starting gate to open, which occurs tomorrow with an incredible thrust of energy from the Aries New Moon.
Thursday, March 22nd – Turbo Charged – Aries Lunation, Mercury, Sun, Uranus. If we didn’t feel the advent of Spring at the beginning of the week, we are certainly likely to be feeling it now. Thursday has the Aries New Moon, putting its imprint on the next fortnight, up to the Full Moon on April 6th. And what an imprint this Lunation has. The Sun Moon conjunction is also conjunct Mercury and conjunct Uranus. No matter where we go and what we do, much of it likely to be determined in the moment, spontaneously and impulsively; we are likely to go turbo charged with a blast of energy that could be hard to stop, much less contain or even control. Yes, the starting gates are thrown wide open and we might all be heading off in our own direction and possibly out of the gates without itinerary and possibly even without direction. The importance of this day is the sense of starting anew, the rebirth and renaissance that this season of Spring promises. We are certainly not looking for ‘same old, same old’. On the contrary, we want to be out and about, engaging our freedom of movement, doing our own thing and assured to be free. This is an exciting day, but we do need to watch for the fireworks of impetuous actions and immediate impulses. But the imprint of this New Moon does in deed focus the next two weeks as a time when we explore, investigate, test the waters and do whatever catches our fancy in the moment.
Friday, March 23rd – Rock and the Hard Place – Pluto, Mercury Pisces. The Aries Moon today squares Pluto. Some of our personal desires may seem blocked by various restrictions placed upon us. We may feel a law unto ourselves and wind up banging our head against the wall. Although we might be impetuous, we could run up against formidable opposition to our plans and to our actions. This Friday also has Mercury exiting Aries and retrograding back into Pisces on the 23rd, ending the Aries Stellium. We may feel moody, prone to a sense of being victim to circumstance, wondering whether the impulse of making changes to our lives can come forward or stillborn. A sense of frustration, of not getting what we want, could create a feeling of depression and a stamping of our feet. This Friday could have us believing that we are between a rock and a hard place. If we could see any delays or blockages as a tempering process, a time for us to hone our focus and develop our interests, then today’s frustrations could serve a useful purpose. We might not want to be limited, but there are times when limitations can prove to be a saving grace. This could be one of those days.
Saturday, March 24th – Lessons Learned or Forgotten – Saturn, Sun, Uranus, Neptune. Saturday begins with the Aries Moon opposed Saturn. Our impulsiveness and self-absorption could have someone reading us the riot act, informing us that we have been self-centered and less than considerate of other people’s feelings. Despite the pulls on us from other people, we are looking out for our best interests. For today, the Sun conjuncts Uranus, reinforcing the Aries New Moon signature. Despite the possible criticism from other people, we are looking to emphasize our individuality, even to the extreme of our feeling like a law unto ourselves. While we are impelled to be free, to accentuate our individuality and do our own thing, we could find with the progression of the day that we become more focused on taking the practical steps necessary to realize our dreams. The Moon exits Aries and enters Taurus where it sextiles Neptune. With our strong self-determination now more grounded by the Taurus energy reasserting the Earth Grand Trine, we have the ability to channel our energies and get things done. We may have been flying off the handle, flying all around over the past few days with this new Aries thrust of primal self-assertion, but late on Saturday we can start to utilize a best practices approach to be productive and effective in taking the right measures to achieve our goals.
Sunday, March 25th – Getting It Done – Lunar Grand Trine, Mars, Pluto, Jupiter. This Sunday emphasizes the Earth Grand Trine as the Moon in Taurus triggers the three planets within this Grand Trine. The Moon first trines Mars in Virgo, then trines Pluto in Capricorn and finally conjuncts Jupiter in Taurus. This is a highly effective day. We can be productive and get things done in a most expeditious manner. This is a day when we can blend our self-assertiveness with a practical and focused approach. We are willing to go slowly, take things step by step, deal with the necessary details, all the while prioritizing our projects and concentrating on the most meaningful. This is a day when we can clear the decks and lay the foundation stones for our future. A day not to be lost to frivolous involvements, this day allows us to get more things done than usual and to do them in a complete manner.
