June 27th – July 3rd, 2011

This week seems like a week when we are itching to make various changes, accentuate new interests and eliminate some of the dross from our lives. Where a problem arises is that we may have certain pulls from our past, issues that keep us from moving forward, and home and family matters that clip our wings of self-determination.

We may be exhausted as we come to the weekend. The sense of going back and forth between changes we wish to institute and old issues we need to resolve could prove frustrating, demoralizing and may wipe us out emotionally, psychologically and even physically.

Yes, this week is one of those weeks when we are living for the weekend. Unfortunately, the weekend may be determined more by other people’s needs and interests or the commitments we made a while ago rather than what we might choose to do in the moment. In the US, it is the July 4th weekend, a celebration of independence, but for some of us we might feel more constrained by our responsibilities and our attachments rather than our independence.

This is a week when we may be rearing to go, wanting to juggle any number of things, all in preparation for some fun times and down time over the long holiday weekend. It is Summer after all and we want to enjoy ourselves.

The main thing we have to avoid this week is rushing ahead without considering the conditions or the circumstances. We could easily go to extremes all with the idea of getting as much done and getting as far ahead as we possibly can. Instead of leaping without looking, let’s slow it down and engage an attitude of the lazy, hazy days of Summer.

Monday, June 27th – Whatever Grabs our Fancy – Mars, Uranus, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday could have us at the buffet of wondrous possibilities and delicious delights. Mars sextiles Uranus and the Taurus Moon sextiles Mercury before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over fifteen and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Taurus and before entering Gemini. This is a day when we want to enjoy whatever grabs our fancy. We want to accentuate our freedom of movement, do things on the fly and not be concerned about the ‘shoulds’ or the ‘oughts’. We are far more interested in trying various things rather than focusing, so we could find ourselves going from one thing to another to another. This day could also be one of those shopping days when we are looking to spice up our home or our wardrobe. It would be wise for us to keep receipts and be aware of return policies, since we might do some impulse buying of items that seem perfect at the time but just do not work for us in quieter reflection. Let’s enjoy our whims today but avoid long-term commitments or definitive decisions.

Tuesday, June 28th – Itchy and Scratchy – Sun, Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Mars. Tuesday has the Sun opposed Pluto. We may feel as though something has gotten under our skin. That some thing could be our responsibilities, our routine or just the vast accumulation of stuff that demands high maintenance. We might have a tendency today to throw things out, get rid of things and be a little on edge. Yes, we might be feeling itchy and scratchy and seeking some relief. Unfortunately, the relief could be throwing baby out with the bath water, or explosive behavior over even the most insignificant situation due to a sense of the straw that broke the camel’s back. Babies, camels, straws, bath waters may all be just too much for us. Today is a day when we are not interested in stuff or obligations. We are continuing yesterday’s theme of wanting to do our own things as the Moon moves into Gemini where it squares Neptune, sextiles Uranus and conjuncts Mars. We could be a little delusional, follow the yellow brick road, but all with the impetus of being free, independent and exploring our possibilities. No limitations for us today, for we are determined to break free, relieve ourselves of the itchy and scratchy feeling and doing our own thing and engaging many different things.

Wednesday, June 29th – A Dose of Reality – Saturn. Wednesday has the Gemini Moon trine Saturn. In discussing matters over with someone significant to our lives, we might find a wise and objective sounding board. If we have gone on a bender in regard to accentuating our personal interests and exploring various possibilities without much regard for consequences or with the necessary due diligence, then today could be a day when someone shines the light of clarity and reality into our fog of prospects and potentials, some of which may play to our desire for change but could also be a case of change for change sake without realizing the consequences or even considering the liability of unintended consequences. Discussions can be heart to heart, all the while considering the full range of parameters. We can strategize and blueprint a best practices approach. Although we might have been bounding ahead over the past two days, this Wednesday allows us to take a more pragmatic approach and a willingness to take things step by step. We can review and reconsider our moves up to this point and then develop the best means to expeditiously realize our goals.

Thursday, June 30th – Nothing Could be Finer – Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune, Jupiter, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Pluto. Wednesday and early Thursday seem good times for us in regard to our relationships and our interactions with other people. Before the Moon exits Gemini, the Moon conjuncts Venus. Nothing could be finer than our significant connections. We can find other people to be both wise counsel and supportive of our future plans. They may just want us to move forward in a focused and practical manner and not go off on bizarre tangents. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost nine hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Gemini and before entering Cancer where it trines Neptune and sextiles Jupiter. Some home fix-up projects can be planned and family considerations engaged. We do have to be wary not to get ensnared by family responsibilities, for the Moon also triggers the Cardinal Climax as the Cancer Moon squares Uranus and opposes Pluto. Tomorrow with the Solar Eclipse, the Sun Moon conjunction will square Saturn. While this Thursday starts off pleasantly enough, we could find that certain obligations get in our way, demand our attention and even clip our wings of things we might want to do for ourselves. We may then move into overdrive, trying to do too many things and placating all sorts of people.

Friday, July 1st – What’s Up, What’s Down, What’s All Around – Cancer New Moon, Solar Eclipse, Sun, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. Friday is the beginning of July and also the day of the Cancer Lunation. This New Moon is a Solar Eclipse and also triggers the Cardinal Climax with the Moon square Saturn and the New Moon configuration within orb of a Cardinal Grand Cross with the Sun and Moon in Cancer, Saturn in Libra, Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries. Having an imprint on the next two weeks, this configuration raises issues yet resolved. Some of the issues may center around home and the housing market, work situations and unemployment figures, taxes and the debt load personal, national and international, and various other areas that need to be either rectified or discarded as no longer functional for our present, much less our future. No matter what occurs, it is essential that we keep in mind the analogy of the phoenix, that mythological bird that rises from its ashes to soar ever higher. This is also the beginning of the long July 4th holiday weekend in the US. We might question what is going on in our lives, be asked to take a very objective and discriminating look at our situation and then consider the steps necessary to disentangle ourselves from weighty scenarios, all the while feeling that the new and the prospects for our future are taking longer than we might like. Aside from the image of the phoenix, we might also want to keep in mind the alchemical process, the opportunity to turn base metal into gold, providing a honing of our lives and allowing us to focus on the most meaningful and truly purposeful. There is a saying that the cup has to be emptied before it can be filled. We may feel our cup to be already empty, ready for the filling but things will take as long as they take. Shortly after the Solar Eclipse and the Cancer Lunation, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost thirty-four hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Cancer and before entering Leo later tomorrow. The energy dies down, not much may be accomplished and we might feel that we truly are in a waiting game. Patience and humility are required.

Saturday, July 2nd – Waiting for Godot – Sun, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Mercury Leo. Saturday continues with the thirty-four hour Moon Void-of-Course that began yesterday as the Moon continues its transit of Cancer without making any connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Cancer and before entering Leo later in the day when the Moon conjuncts Mercury which has just entered Leo today. The continuation of Friday’s energy is also felt with the influence of yesterday’s Solar Eclipse as the Sun exactly squares Saturn today. Things may get off to a slow start on this day. There just is not the energy to get up and going. Delays may be rampant and we could easily be frustrated by plans we made for this weekend some time ago. We are not operating on all eight cylinders and may feel exhausted by everything that has been going on, or not going according to our dictates. Welcome to the twenty-first century world, an era when we need to reprogram ourselves, work with the energies and not assume that we can master our world but rather be co-creators of our destiny. Family issues and home responsibilities could demand our attention to begin the day. No matter what our obligations might be for this day, things lighten up considerably later in the day. We become more interested in fun activities, having a good time and re-creating ourselves through pleasurable pursuits. As the day progresses, we might feel more energized, as if we now have wind in our sails.

Sunday, July 3rd – Going for the Gold – Uranus, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. These times speak to volatility — extremes of ups and extremes of downs, times of intense energy, times of no energy. This week and this Sunday are indicative of the tenor of these times. The day starts off with a great deal of energy. We are ready for fun, to do things on the spur of the moment and to grab all the gusto that we possibly can. The day begins with the Leo Moon trine Uranus, square Jupiter, sextile Mars and sextile Saturn. We are up for spontaneity and looking to engage those special people in our lives for some good times. We do have to be careful not to overspend or be excessive in the many things we might want to do today. But our enjoyment and fun activities may not have a price tag for us until we get the credit card bill. If we could budget our monies today, with the idea that we have a certain amount put aside for our enjoyment on this Sunday, then we might avoid the debt hangover that otherwise can act out the truth to the saying that ‘if you dance to the music, you have to pay to the piper’. This is a day for pleasurable activities and good times. Let’s just watch the expense. As the day progresses, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost twenty-one hours and much of tomorrow with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Leo and before entering Virgo later on Monday. The energy dies down. The thrust of this Sunday occurs earlier in the day and then peters out as we move towards the end of the day.
