This week could have us looking over our shoulder, wondering what shoe might drop next and preparing to respond, or react, to whatever comes next. We might feel particularly sensitive, even vulnerable, to the vagaries of change. We may have the sense that life is happening ever faster with many of the ingredients far beyond our control. And in deed, we are in times whereby we have to relinquish a belief in our control and mastery of our world. Instead, it is essential that we keep our antennae up, work with peripheral vision and be aware and mindful of the shifting tides.
Much of the latter part of January and these first three weeks of February have accented the Aquarian energy of possibilities, ‘democracy’ and increased freedom of the person versus the control of the powers-that-be. We have seen it in the Middle East and elsewhere where rumblings of protests and demonstrations against authority have shaken, even deposed, some governments.
A major energy shift occurs this week, and we might have had an eerie sense of it towards the latter part of last week. The focus on Aquarian energy is now shifting to concentrated sentiments of Neptune and Pisces. We are coming into the ‘end of winter doldrums’, that time of year when we can hardly wait for Spring to come but also a time when we are increasingly influenced by the spin, the presentations and a sense that someone, like some great Master, will step forward, fix everything, make all the problems go away and allow us better times. It’s a nice concept, but one that speaks more to the past epoch rather than the new epoch into which we are entering.
While we might feel like Sisyphus rolling a boulder up the mountain this week, it is essential that we watch our moods, maintain a spiritual discipline and keep fully aware of the shifting tides. It could seem as though we are doing the Texas two-step, with one step forward two steps back, two steps forward one step back.
The key to maintaining balance this week is for us not to jump to any conclusions or feel powerless to the changes happening in our world. We also need to engage the attitude of moderation in all things.
We might want to escape our present reality this week, but even if we can postpone dealing with some of the pressing matters in our lives, they will not go away until we address them and bring them to conclusion. If we can keep focused and mindful, we could tie up loose ends. But it would also be important to be aware that we might not have all the significant variables in hand.
This week we might be hoping, praying and looking for some magic wand to take away our pressing issues. If we embrace that attitude, we might find ourselves just ‘waiting for Godot’, the fixer who never shows.
Monday, February 21st – Not up to Snuff – Saturn, Venus, Mercury Pisces. Monday has the Libra Moon conjunct Saturn and square Venus. Mercury exits Aquarius to enter Pisces, a Sign of its Detriment where Mercury is not at all comfortable. With Mercury moving into Pisces, we end the Aquarius Stellium of three or more planets in one Sign and now have the Pisces Stellium as Mercury joins the Sun and Uranus in the Mutable Water Sign. We might not feel as though we are operating at our optimum today. Things may take longer than we like and any delays could create frustrations and even the liability towards a hissy fit with someone who might matter. We could feel deflated, somewhat depressed and see our inbox or ‘to do’ list brimming over. We can also anticipate other people having needs of our time and our involvement. We do need to watch our communications. Words may not come readily, and the words that do might give the wrong impression. This is a day to cut ourselves some slack and not feel that we have to perform to other people’s requests. We may not feel up to snuff today, so let’s take things slow and not assume that we can get it all done today.
Tuesday, February 22nd – Finding the Needle in the Haystack – Neptune, Mars, Mercury, Sun, Pluto, Mars Pisces. We start the day looking forward to our possibilities and enjoying the camaraderie of friends as we share prospects and potentials. The Libra Moon trines both Neptune and Mars to begin the day and then quickly shifts into Scorpio where it trines the Sun and Mercury and sextiles Pluto. Later in the day, Mars exits Aquarius and enters Pisces reinforcing the Stellium of three or more planets in the Mutable Water Sign, as Mars joins, Mercury, the Sun and Uranus in Pisces. We can begin the day determined to consider brighter days for ourselves in the future. In so doing, it would be wise for us consider our strategy and focus on the key ingredients. If we take the time to prepare ourselves, then we might discover that we have the fundamental points we wish to convey to other people. We can find the needle in the haystack today, cut to the core, and get to the heart of any matter. This is a no-nonsense day when we feel driven by that which has true meaning and purpose for us. The strong emphasis upon Pisces now could make us susceptible to those end of Winter colds and flu as the temperatures start to vary between Winter temperatures and the temperatures of the coming of Spring. We may feel that we have to be reactive to situations, but such a reactive mode would also allow us to accept our roles as co-creators of our destiny, along with the natural unfolding, rather than just assuming that we can control and master our world.
Wednesday, February 23rd – Heart to Hearts – Venus. Wednesday has the Scorpio Moon sextile Venus. We can determine our best course of action by drawing upon other people’s input. A sounding board, even a devil’s advocate, can help us see the positive attributes and the negative attributes of anything we might be contemplating. Let’s keep in mind that part of this process during this paradigm shift is to concentrate on our individual journey and what the right directions are for us personally. At the same time, we might feel as if we just do not have the energy to make significant decisions, definitive commitments and radical actions. Even if we question our abilities, let’s keep in mind that we do not have to do it all. The universe works and there is a master plan for each of us unfolding in our lives. It may not be sequential but certainly there are no mistakes. Every thing has a reason, even if we don’t comprehend that reason during the process of the unfolding but rather days, months or years down the road.
Thursday, February 24th – Foreign Intrigue and Discords – Neptune, Uranus, Mars, Mercury, the Sun, Jupiter. Thursday and Friday seem the most intense days of this week. Thursday begins with the Scorpio Moon square Neptune and trine Uranus and then quickly shifts with the Moon moving into Sagittarius where it squares Mars, Mercury and the Sun and trines Aries. We could start the day on the wrong foot, following possibilities that might be, in truth, unrealities. Things can shift and change on a dime today, so it would be wise for us to not get locked into our schedule or plans but to be open to unexpected variables and opportunities that come our way. We may have a sense of confidence that borders on blind faith and we might look to expand beyond reasonable parameters. We also have to be careful that situations beyond our control don’t create an influence of which we are not fully aware. Things may not be as they seem and this day could see heightened anxiety ratcheted up. Some of the problems could revolve around foreign intrigue and might trigger disputes and discords that get out of control. We might feel right about our position but it would be wise to be aware that we might not have all the facts in hand.
Friday, February 25th – Up from the Bowels – Sun, Mercury, Pluto, Jupiter, Saturn. This Friday could be a rather extreme day thanks to the strong Pluto influence. The Sun conjuncts Mercury and both the Sun and Mercury sextile Pluto. Jupiter squares Pluto and the Sagittarius Moon sextiles Saturn. This Friday might prove quite intense. Since we are dealing with a great deal of Pluto energy today, any atmospheric storm systems could produce high precipitation and there might even be episodes of geophysical activity, earthquakes and volcanoes. We might feel blocked by authority figures or distracted by issues associated with the past. People could be playing their trump cards and provoking power plays. Tai chi moves are called for whereby we concentrate on the energy we are dealing with and then address the situation. No flying off the handle today! If we blueprint our plans and devise a best practices approach, then we can move ahead in a concentrated and focused manner. We do have to be careful that our enthusiasm does not get the better of us. We can see wide swings today in emotions. Nothing may be done in half measure today. It can be an all or nothing sort of time, so it would be wise for us to draw upon trusted counsel before we go off assuming that we can make things the way we want them to be.
Saturday, February 26th – Adapting to the Times – Neptune, Uranus, Mars. Saturday begins with the Sagittarius Moon sextile Neptune and square Uranus. The Moon then moves into Capricorn where it sextiles Mars. We may begin the day with plans set and looking forward to getting together with friends. We might even have a trip out of town scheduled. No matter how precise our plans, we could experience hiccups that upset our plans and force us to adapt to changing circumstance. If we can be flexible and go with the program, then this day can be a most productive and enjoyable day. Even if our greatest wishes cannot occur today, we can get a great deal done. Things can flow very easily, so long as we are willing to adjust to the unanticipated and things having their own spin. After two days that might have been fairly intense, we might want to take the energy down today. It would seem important to allow ourselves some down time, regroup and consider our situation in light of some of the changes that may have been going on around us. Let’s keep in mind that during these times of paradigm shift we have to be aware and mindful of the conditions and circumstance in which we find ourselves. Our old playbook of how to do life may no longer work for us and our new playbook might seem to have nothing but blank pages, forcing us to devise our actions and reactions in the moment, always with the recognition of the shifting sands of these times.
Sunday, February 27th – Pulled in All Directions – Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Jupiter, Saturn, Sun, Mercury. Sunday is one of those days when we might be involved in a tug-of-war between what we want to do and what someone else wants to do. This Sunday has a Lunar T-Square in the Cardinal Signs with the Capricorn Moon conjunct Pluto and square both Jupiter in Aries and Saturn in Libra. The Moon also sextiles the Sun and Mercury. Although there might be the tendency to draw a line in the sand, emphasizing our own personal needs versus those of someone else today, it would be wise for us to be more conciliatory and see how we can create a win-win situation with both sides feeling that their needs are being met. If we insist on a tug-of-war scenario, then we could be creating a lose-lose situation. This day can be a high energy day, so if we are willing to give a little bit of attention to our interests and also other people’s interests, we may have a great deal going on but at least we are not creating a battle royal. Communication is key today, expressing our needs to other people, yet also being a receptive listener to their needs. But there does have to be a balance. If we are capitulating to other people’s interests, then we could become very resentful. The one main liability of this day would be passive-aggressive maneuvers, either on our part or someone else’s part. Why go there when we can accomplish both what we want to do and what someone else might want to do. Instead of being pulled in all directions, we could touch base with the different directions and might even find other people’s activities to be enlightening or entertaining.
