October 25th – 31st, 2010

Talk, home projects and fun seem to highlight this week, all the while that the volatility continues on with mood swings between euphoria and anxiety. With the week ending on Halloween, we might be wondering whether we are being served treats or just being tricked. Time will tell, but the whipsaws do caution due diligence and not taking anything at face value.

People can be making ‘nice’ with one another, but it would be wise for us to keep in mind the source and question their agenda. Hucksters may be out and about, promising us this, that and everything that our minds can visualize and fantasize. Let’s keep our wits about us and recognize that Halloween might not be the only day this week when people are playing dress-up in interesting costumes. What is real and what is only an image or a mirage?

While we may have a great deal going on this week, that would be no excuse or justification for letting down our guard. We don’t have to be suspicious or jaded but a healthy skepticism might prevent us from getting entangled in situations that prove only draining, draining to our time, our monies and our energy.

We do pick up some energy in the latter part of the week as Mars exits Scorpio and enters Sagittarius, providing us with a much-needed shot of fire and a dose of adrenaline. What we have to watch out for is a tendency to use any sense of revitalization to ratchet up our energy expenditures in a way that could seem overbearing or overreaching. Like a wild stallion running at full speed, Mars in Sagittarius needs to be reined in, broken into a functional use of our energy and not a run riot quality of over-exuberance and over-confidence.

The week ends with the weekend, when we might be looking for fun with a capital F. We may be helter-skelter to begin the week, concentrating on home improvement in the middle of the week, but all stops are out on the weekend as we seek out good times.

Monday, October 25th – In the Heat of the Night – Mercury, Venus, Uranus, Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Mars. Sunday night, early Monday morning could have us feeling restless and might contribute to a fitful sleep. Mercury conjuncts Venus and the Taurus Moon sextiles Uranus and creates a T-Square by squaring Neptune and opposing Mars. Much of today’s action might be triggered by our thoughts and feelings Sunday night and early Monday morning. We might have grandiose plans but such plans could be reflective of ‘wrong way Corrigan’, plans that seem great in concept but in truth are leading us off course and into the wrong direction. We have to be wary of grand illusions, or delusions, for whatever captures our fancy could have us giving our all, and then some, in trying to achieve our goal. This day is one of those days when we need to keep our antennae up, have a little humility, be certain that we’re not getting in our own way and be open to new possibilities and new ways of doing things. Our thoughts may be determined and our actions passionate, but we might find that people have an edge on. No matter what we intend as we start the day, our tendency would be towards being focused and willing to take things to the limit and beyond. Most of this day could be a little helter-skelter, whereby we’re going from one thing to another, but all with a great amount of exertion and intent. If we could cool our jets today, then we might be less likely to be slamming against walls and avoid caroming from one body slam to the next. Let’s try to take our energy level down a notch or so, because everything we do today we could do with gusto and we might prove overbearing.

Tuesday, October 26th – Planning, Strategizing, Putting the Pieces Together – Sun, Pluto, Saturn. If we didn’t put ourselves on the disability list yesterday by our over-exertions, then today is a day to get our act together. We can be incredibly resourceful today, figuring out what the very best tools and most effective means might be to realize our goals. We may also be very cogent regarding those people that can assist us in our plans. We may draw upon those people who prove to be important sounding boards to refine our ideas and our methods. This Tuesday has the Sun sextile Pluto and the Gemini Moon trine Saturn. This is one of those days when we’re looking to advance our position and we can do so with a laser-like presentation that cuts to the essence of the matter, offers a best practices approach and wins the support of significant people who might not only applaud our efforts but might even help us achieve our goals. We’ve got it going on today. Nothing is likely to stand in our way. We are not looking to be adversarial or confrontational. We know what we want and we can convince other people that what we want serves not only us but them as well. We can accomplish a great deal today. We’re not distracted or diverted from our program. We use streamlined methods and we can find the most expeditious way to get to where we want to be going.

Wednesday, October 27th – Bump, Bump, Bump, the Best Laid Plans – Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto, Sun. We all know the saying: ‘Human plans; God laughs’. The truth to that saying could be evident to us early on Wednesday. Although Tuesday was an incredibly powerful day when we might have felt that we had the Midas touch and that everything was turning into gold and going our way; Wednesday could offer us up a huge dose of humility. We might have had it going on yesterday but today’s slalom course seems to have various bumps and mounds that might knock us off center. The day begins with the Gemini Moon trine Neptune and square both Jupiter and Uranus. We might feel that our plans have a manifest destiny to them, and inevitability. With yesterday’s thrust of energy we might also feel somewhat invincible in our pursuit of our goals. Nice concept but it could run into a smack down from overconfidence and those unexpected variables that sometimes come up and throw monkey-wrenches into the spokes of our wheels. Although we have all been conditioned into a sequential reality of things going from A to B to C, those times are moving behind us and we are entering into a time when various things can come up out of the blue and force us to be flexible, adapt to changing conditions and shift our plans. Such a situation could occur on this Wednesday. We may be thrown for a loop, the wind knocked out of our sails, as we dither about trying to figure out the new complexion of our day. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost five hours making no further connections to the planets as it exits Gemini and before entering Cancer where it opposes Pluto and trines the Sun. After some dithering about, our confidence may wane. We might decide that whatever we do, we’re likely to find resistance or blocks to our moving ahead in our planned direction. We might even choose to step away from some of our projects and use the time to swallow our pride and tidy up around our home. Home projects that have been calling us could grab our attention and might serve as a necessary refuge from the delays or restrictions that have turned our streamlined approach into a sense of rolling boulders up the mountain.

Thursday, October 28th – Super Someone – Sun, Venus, Saturn, Mercury, Mars Sagittarius. This Thursday we might awaken bolt upright and feel that we have been transformed into…. [drum roll]… Super Someone. The Sun conjuncts Venus and the Cancer Moon trines Venus, trines Mercury and squares Saturn. But the major, or majorette, [drum roll, please] energy of this day is the change of Sign with Mars moving out of Scorpio and coming into Sagittarius. After a dearth of Fire in the heavenly skies, we have discovered Fire and even have some fire in our belly. Alhamdulillah [All praise is due to Allah, looking to be politically correct]. Yes, the Mars movement into Sagittarius could provide us with a good shot of adrenaline, which might nicely match our feel-good sense about ourselves. Yes, we might be a little [little ???] narcissistic today. We might feel that there is no one better, finer, more together, more adored… than the universal Moi. It’s great to feel good about ourselves, don’t get me wrong. It’s wonderful to break free of the lethargy or the reactive, victimized role and to embrace our power of uniqueness, talent and just super someone. But, not everyone may applaud. Some people might tell us that it’s a wee bit early for Halloween, take off the mask of Super Someone and crawl back into our shell of usual personality. Let’s not let the naysayers pop our balloon. We are energized and ready to expand our realm, possibly take on the world. We should be adept at moving ahead, adroit in making our movements and not be overly confident or overly expansive in today’s plans. Let’s enjoy the fire in our belly and recognize that we can be far more optimistic than we have been but not everyone could be on the same page with us.

Friday, October 29th – Ohhh, Baby, Baby, These Magic Moments – Jupiter, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars. Friday can be one of those magical days when things fit neatly into place without our having to do a whole lot to push, pull, squeeze and force. No, this Friday is a day when the universe seems to be on our side. The day begins with the Cancer Moon trine Jupiter and trine Uranus. We may be looking at making some sudden changes in our home, sprucing things up, spicing things up. But the more we can act in the moment, be spontaneous and even impulsive, the more the magic can happen. Things can come out of the blue, open up new possibilities to us, and even resolve easily some problem areas. If we take care of outstanding matters and take advantage of some surprising opportunities, we can deal with a number of different things, clear up various matters and clean our plate so that we’re ready for the next step. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for five hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Cancer and before entering Leo where it trines Mars. Paaarr….ty! Yes, the latter part of Friday has us looking for fun events and good times. We may be on something of a high with a weekend planned for enjoying ourselves, getting together with friends and possibly getting out of Dodge to some exotic locale, which could prove exotic no matter how dreary the locale. It’s Halloween weekend and we’re not looking for tricks, only treats.

Saturday, October 30th – Too Much of a Good Thing – Venus, Sun, Saturn. Saturday has the Leo Moon square both Venus and the Sun in Scorpio and sextile Saturn in Libra. We are not looking at having our wings clipped today, but our search for recreational pursuits and enjoyable activities could have us putting a dent into our financial situation. We may feel that nothing is too costly for us to get involved in and we could be wracking up some large expenses today. Someone may try to show us reason and if we listen to them, then we might limit the damage of our expenditures. There was an old saying that went ‘the best things in life are free’. More recently, we’ve scoffed at such an idea, assuming that there is truly no ‘free lunch’, and besides, we’re not interested in sandwiches today but rather a smorgasbord of earthly delights. If we could be conscious of cost effectiveness with the realization that big price tags don’t always equate with either good quality or good times, we could save ourselves some grief and lessen the amount we may be adding to our debt load. The main thing on this day when we want to enjoy ourselves is to do so within reason. Too much of a good thing is often too much and as another saying goes: ‘if you dance to the music, you have to pay to the piper’.

Sunday, October 31st – More Tricks than Treats? – Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course. Sunday continues with the Leo Moon which today creates a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon square Mercury and Moon opposed Neptune. Our anticipations of fun events and social gatherings might not live up to our expectations or the hype. Perhaps people are doing things on a shoestring, minimizing but with a great sacrifice to the presentation or to the fun event. Not everyone is on the same page today. Some people might want to do one thing, while other people in our party want to do something else. There could be a tug-of-war of wills today. But the interesting aspect of all that is whosoever may win the argument or decide the course of action, the winning doesn’t add up to much except possibly a great disappointment. As if feeling that we are supposed to have fun today, Halloween, when we can be outlandish and indulgent and revert to a semblance of childhood that might never have been; we could set ourselves up. Treats today could turn out to be tricks and we might find ourselves staying at the party too long, or trying to make things happen a certain way and expend too much energy in doing so. Let’s lower our expectations, not get fixed in regard to our plans and certainly not draw lines in the sand and seek a confrontation with those we consider friends and loved ones. Although the day might not live up to its buildup, things shift towards the latter part of the day. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost seven hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Leo and before entering Virgo. Let’s face it! Halloween used to be a time that gave us license to dress up in outlandish costumes. We no longer need the license since we can dress up in whatever we want without the need for a special holiday or a special occasion. We get a little more serious in the latter part of the day and think back to our ‘to do’ list of obligations and responsibilities.
