September 27th – October 3rd, 2010

We begin the week feeling at the top of our game. We can be astute, think outside the box and come up with an innovative and focused approach by which to achieve our goals. Developing an optimum strategy, we can present our ideas and our intentions in a clear and upbeat manner. ‘Eureka’, we might cry out as if we had surpassed Archimedes in his startling revelation and significant scientific understanding.

Yes, we start the week with all flags flying. We may be flying high, thinking that we have outdone ourselves and ready to implement our plans in a resourceful and most effective manner.

While the early part of the week can seem like we’re operating on all cylinders and that we have devised a state-of-the-art plan to readily realize our dreams, we hit bumps as we come mid-week and towards the end of the weekend. We might be feeling the truth of the statement that ‘if you want to make god laugh, tell god your plans.’

Suddenly, we may feel as though the wind had been knocked out of our sails and that in fact we are hitting the wall. If we do slam bang against an impenetrable obstacle, it might not be for lack of trying or even flaws in our methodology. Instead, we could face a situation of a good plan, even an exemplary plan, gone wrong.

The end of September and beginning of October could have us dealing with outstanding matters and unexpected situations that seem to throw curveballs to our plans and to our best intentions. Maybe we have gone too far too fast. Perhaps we have not taken into account certain variables that we could hardly entertain as liabilities. We might even have been operating from irrational exuberance, that confidence which stokes the fires of invincibility and inevitability. Whatever it is, we should be aware as we develop our plans early in the week that our intentions can be affected by things beyond our control, asking that we constantly evaluate and re-evaluate as we proceed and with the willingness to be flexible and adapt to any unanticipated variables that might force us to make changes or shift our itinerary.

This week can be a productive week as long as we are mindful, do not get carried away by over-confidence and recognize the metronome quality of these volatile times.

Monday, September 27th – State of the Art – Mercury, Neptune, Jupiter, Uranus. Monday begins the week with the Taurus Moon trine Mercury, square Neptune and sextile both Jupiter and Uranus. This day can be a highly effective day for making plans and developing the best way to realize our goals. We have the ability of coming up with a streamlined and resourceful methodology, all the while that we are thinking outside the box and incorporating the innovative. While we can see the big picture, we can also focus on the details and the specifics, blending the particulars together to create an expansive and tangible outcome. We do have to be wary of irrational exuberance, being overconfident and assuming that we can pull things off without a hitch. While we might be feeling upbeat and inspired today, we need to avoid distractions and not engage activities that seem appealing but have little substance and could prove only dissipating to our energies. Today is a day to prioritize and focus. We can accomplish a great deal today, virtually move mountains, but let’s be certain which mountains to move and not get solely enamored with our inventive abilities. This is a day for us to avoid casting our pearls before swine.

Tuesday, September 28th – Hail, Hail, the Gang’s All Here – Sun, Saturn. Tuesday has the Moon in Gemini trine both the Sun and Saturn. We are looking at reaching out to other people, presenting them with our newly found discoveries of what we can do and how we can do it. Today is a day when we may have a counsel of ‘yes’ people, people who are supportive of us, encouraging us but possibly without a critical eye to offer us solid feedback and astute critique. Our communications can be highly attuned today but with a tendency towards preaching to the choir and telling or being told just what is wanted to be heard. The spinmeisters may be out in full force today, so it would be wise to take things with a grain of salt, or a block of salt lick. Let’s keep in mind that things may not be as they are presented to us. Mindfulness is a key characteristic of these times and it would be wise for us to maintain that quality. If we accept things at face value, we could be setting ourselves up for a fall. Let’s enjoy the day, keep it light and airy but recognize that we may be seeing only the surface appearance and possibly not taking into account the substance of the situation. In addition, there may be variables or unexpected situations that could arise later on to douse our enthusiasm and temper our exuberance.

Wednesday, September 29th – Skimming Over – Mercury. Wednesday continues with the Gemini Moon, which today squares Mercury. We may be riding high, still intoxicated by the past two days. While seeing life through rose-colored glasses offers a pleasant and encouraging perspective, it may also allow us to gloss over specifics, negate details and concentrate instead on what we want to see and how we want to see it. The concept that ‘haste makes waste’ could be an indication of our tendency today. We could easily buy into things based upon our hopes and wishes rather than the necessity of our exercising the requisite due diligence. We need to be careful in our communications today, since we could have a tendency to jump from one thing to another and consequently our coherence may not be the strongest. We are likely to be juggling a number of things, feeling that we are on top of things and able, or willing, to give only a cursory review of what we’re doing and how we’re doing it. Let’s try and slow things down today, take things step by step and not jump to conclusions. This is one of those days when it is essential that we pull back the Wizard of Oz screen curtain to see the little guy punching the buttons and not just accept the image, presentation and appearance, no matter how rosy and gleaming it may appear.

Thursday, September 30th – There, We’ve Done it Again – Sun, Saturn, Neptune, Lunar Grand Cross, Jupiter, Uranus, Cardinal Climax, Pluto. There are times when we are moving so quickly that we don’t even know where we’ve been, what we’re doing and where we are going. Those times seem to be when we are riding a wave, exhilarated by the thrill of it all but possibly not fully accounting for the circumstances and conditions. Then, suddenly, we go through a wipeout and get a body slam. Could this Thursday be one of those days? Possibly so, for the energies today can knock us for a loop. We start the day still in high gear as the Gemini Moon trines Neptune. The Moon then squares both Jupiter and Uranus before entering Cancer where it triggers the Cardinal Climax by opposing Pluto and square both Saturn and the Sun. This Thursday also has the Sun conjunct Saturn. If we have negated our due diligence, merely rushed ahead without checking the conditions, exuberant but oblivious to circumstances; then this Thursday could provide us with a body slam and a slap of hard, cold reality. We may have outstanding issues to address, conflicts with people that have been unresolved, and a walk down Memory Lane whereby past events and even our connections from the past come back to haunt us. This Thursday could have us dealing with unexpected situations that could weigh heavily on us. If we haven’t tied up loose ends, those loose ends might unravel today forcing us to stop and back up and deal with situations to which we would prefer to say ‘devil, get thee behind me.’ Even if we do feel like we’re being slammed today, let’s keep in mind that such situations can slow us down, force us to halt and re-evaluate and may, in truth, offer us a tempering process and prevent us from running like lemmings towards the cliffs.

Friday, October 1st – Mindful or Impetuous – Mercury, Jupiter, Mars, Venus. Friday begins the month of October, and we could start this month feeling as though we have dodged a bullet. If the house of cards didn’t all fall down yesterday, then this Friday could have us feeling as if we are being resourceful and fully capable of weaving and dodging the liabilities and possible trip-ups of these times. Mercury opposes Jupiter and the Cancer Moon trines both Mars and Venus today. Either we can be very upbeat, inspired and devising a grand plan with all the necessary details taken into account. Or we can move ahead, assuming that our destiny will take us to our promised land, all the while that we turn a blind eye to the conditions and circumstances around us. The former would speak to sharpened mindfulness, the latter to irrational exuberance. We may find ourselves wanting to straighten things up around our home. We might not be interested in being encumbered by the trite or the trivial and we could contemplate a clear out and clean up of the clutter in our lives. While this day is a day when we can get the most out of our efforts, a tendency towards indulgence and excess needs to be reined in. We may be highly emotional today, compassionate and feeling other people’s pain or just immersed in an emotional meltdown. It would be wise to avoid comparisons today, for either we could see ourselves better than other people or resent the fact that we view ourselves as victims to life and envious of other people whom we might assume have it better than us. As with all energy configurations, the question as to how the energies work is often dependent upon our choice — our choice of attitude, our choice of actions.

Saturday, October 2nd – Fly in the Ointment – Mercury, Uranus, Jupiter. Early Saturday continues with the Cancer Moon, which today trines Jupiter, trines Uranus and sextiles Mercury. Mercury opposes Uranus. Later in the day, the Moon moves into Leo. This Saturday is a day to keep ourselves in check. Miscommunications ad misunderstandings could prove troublesome. There can be computer glitches, Internet problems and unexpected variables popping up that impact our plans and force us to shift and adapt to new circumstances. Whatever we have planned for this day, it would be wise to be flexible since some of our plans might fall apart or have to be altered. We might consider changing things around in our home, sprucing thing up and doing a good Fall cleaning. We might also be champing at the bit, wanting to get on with it, free of our responsibilities and able to do things on the whim of the moment. If we have errands to attend to, let’s try and do so in the earlier part of the day. And this Saturday is a day to incorporate time management techniques, especially in light of the liability towards certain curveballs that could affect our intentions. Later in the day, as the Moon moves into Leo, we’re looking for fun. Even if we have taken care of our ‘to do’ list, we want to be free to have a good time and just enjoy ourselves. The evening is a good time to take in a movie, get together with friends and do whatever activities we feel might re-create ourselves.

Sunday, October 3rd – Good Times, at What Expense – Venus, Mars, Saturn, Sun, Mercury Libra. Sunday has Venus conjunct Mars and the Leo Moon sextile both Saturn and the Sun and square both Venus and Mars. Mercury exits its own Sign of Virgo to enter Libra, thereby creating a Stellium of three or more planets in the Cardinal Air Sign as Mercury joins the Sun and Saturn in Libra. We may feel very passionate today, looking to push the envelope and feeling that nothing is too much. We may be grandstanding today, showing ourselves off as generous and extravagant. Such a tendency might allow for a good time had by all, but at what expense? This is a day when we might throw caution to the wind and be excessive in our expenditure of energy, money or intensity. People could be a little too much today, parading around like peacocks, throwing money around and being indulgent all under the guise of having a good time. Let’s try to maintain our resourcefulness today, keep a rein on our expenditures and budget our time. Too much of a good thing could prove too much.
