Our emotions can run high this week and people may be on edge, feeling slightly belligerent but unwilling to let go of their desires or their indulgence. This is a week when we may embrace carpe diem, looking to seize the day with little forethought regarding our tomorrows. It’s great to live in the NOW but it would be wise to maintain our mindfulness and sharpen our awareness.
Too much of a good thing is too much and we could tend towards extravagance and irrational exuberance this week. We may be putting on our rose-colored glasses, seeing everything at its brightest and most picture perfect. Can we say a liability towards the delusional?
Certainly, we are all probably sick and tired of being sick and tired. We don’t want to turn on the news and see what’s really going on, or what is being presented to us as news. We would far prefer to be in our cocoon of ignorance being bliss.
This week officially ends Summer and begins Autumn, a season that starts with the Cardinal Climax back in the picture. Yes, it’s baaack.
We may not want Summer gone but possibly more for a Summer that never lived up to expectations rather than eager anticipation for the coming Fall, or fall. We felt the Cardinal Climax over the Summer, punctuated in August, which for many of us was a month best forgotten. The Cardinal Climax links up the Cardinal Signs with the transits of Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn in Libra, now in play, and over this Summer and again just before the Spring of 2011 and for several years thereafter, Uranus transiting Aries.
The feeling of being a ball in a pachinko machine with us bouncing around and colliding against other people as the world seems to give way cascading down to who knows what can only raise our anxieties, our concerns and a sense of powerlessness. But why go there?
If we accept the fact that we are at the threshold between ages, then we can appreciate the fact that while old programs, patterns and semblances of security no longer work for us; new patterns, programs and semblances of security will take their place. The universe does not allow for a vacuum.
While we might mourn and grieve the past and the sense of whom we have been, any wailing and sighing could be more a reflection of things seeming better in reminiscence than in the actual past experience. For many of us, we were not having a real good time before things started slip sliding away.
This week will make us aware of endings and beginnings, or more truthfully afford us a recognition of the process of transitions and transformations.
We could be highly emotional early in the week. Our compassion may be engaged and our desire to be of service increased significantly. We do have to be wary of a liability towards escapism, whereby we engage our fantasies and allow ourselves excesses. Some of us may even be playing the game of savior-martyr, which in its construct allows no winners.
The latter part of the week can have us focusing on our own personal desires. We might be mumbling to ourselves: ‘to hell with everyone else.’ We could find ourselves acting out and emphasizing our own interests without much consideration of other people’s needs.
The weekend would be a good time to get rid of clutter. We may feel uncomfortable in our own skin with the sense of a numbing weight bearing us down. We are looking to change our structure, cut to the core, but we have to be careful not to be too rash in our movements or our judgments.
With the changing of the seasons, the volatility can be ratcheted up. Our emotions can go through wide and wild swings. Atmospheric storm systems could prove intense with high winds and deluges of precipitation. We might want to initiate actions, almost any actions no matter how irrational they could be, just because we don’t like sitting around waiting for Godot. Let’s watch our health this week, consider meditation and grounding exercises, and adopt the attitude of moderation in all things.
Monday, September 20th – Thinking, Pausing, Acting – Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto. Monday starts the week with us in high gear as far as our intentions. But let’s keep in mind the saying that the pathway to hell is paved with good intentions. After a weekend that could have stoked the feelings of our invincibility, of luck on our side, we might start this week believing that nothing is impossible to us and that everything is possible, thanks to the ‘law’ of attraction. We are living in a magical time, and this Monday could have us contemplating and expecting the magic to happen. The day begins with the Aquarius Moon conjunct Neptune. We may be filled with wonderful thoughts of possibilities, of our future unfettered by mundane concerns and the magical, mystery tour of our lives unfolding in an idyllic and bounteous way, in the future. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over seven hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Aquarius and before entering Pisces where it sextiles Pluto. We start our day with reveries of what can be and we might idle there in our contemplations and considerations for some time on this Monday. We may be more active in our mind than in practical reality, but as the day progresses, we could move forward, create the structure by which to realize our hopes and dreams and feel as if manifest destiny is moving us inexorably towards our goals. We don’t always have to make things happen but we do have to put our spirit into action.
Tuesday, September 21st – To the Max and Beyond – Sun, Jupiter, Uranus, Mars, Venus, Mercury. This Tuesday speaks to the likelihood of excess. Irrational exuberance could be en vogue today, as we might assume that nothing is too good for us and that nothing is out of our reach. This Tuesday has the Sun opposed both Jupiter and Uranus, just before the Sun exits Virgo to enter Libra tomorrow and the start of the Autumn season. It’s the last day of Summer and whether consciously or subconsciously we could be going for all the gusto today. The Pisces Moon trines both Mars and Venus in Scorpio and opposes Mercury in Virgo. Although this day would be a good day to consider the big picture and all the different strategies, with specifics included, regarding how to realize in concrete terms our goals; such a disposition can occur only if we are being truly resourceful and focused on how we can do more with less. Otherwise, we could go hell bent for glory, assume that what we want is what we can manifest, gloss over the details, neglect the specifics and wind up creating a mess of excess, indulgence, all as a result of our irrational exuberance. Tuesday is a day to apply the brakes to our decisions and our actions. We could create more of a morass for ourselves if we make assumptions, lose sight of the unfolding circumstances and just plough ahead believing that if we want things to occur in a certain manner they are definitely likely to do so. Curveballs may be thrown our way today, so we need to be nimble and quick in order to deal with unexpected situations and to address unanticipated variables. Things can shift dramatically and instantaneously and we need to keep our eye on the unfolding of events. If we channel our enthusiasm with due diligence, we can accomplish a lot today. We just have to keep a check on our wildly swinging emotions and not feel that we are either omnipotent or victimized.
Wednesday, September 22nd – There Goes Summer – Autumn Equinox, Sun Libra. Wednesday continues with the Pisces Moon, a fitting day to end the Summer. Late on Wednesday, early Thursday, the Sun exits Virgo to enter Libra. This Wednesday is the 22nd, a master number in numerology, which represents the master builder. If looked up to, the master builder can create strong foundations and establish a solid structure upon which to develop and grow projects, activities and the practical realization of dreams. Similar to a mountain goat that can freely climb and descend while the domestic goat is tethered to the mundane, the 22nd allows for either the master builder to create and make manifest strong and focused structures or the drone working day in and day out, churning out same old, same old incessantly. Which shall we be? This Wednesday asks us to tie up loose ends, to do an inventory taking of projects that might have to be relegated to the dust bin and those projects we may want to brush off, hone and temper in order to develop them in a strong and solid manner. The more we can become clear regarding those things that are associated with the past and no longer functional for our present, much less the future; the less baggage we’ll have to contend with as we move across the threshold into the new paradigm.
Thursday, September 23rd – It-s Baaack – Jupiter, Uranus, Aries Full Moon, Cardinal Climax, Lunar T-Square, Sun, Pluto, Saturn. Thursday is the first day of Fall and we enter the Autumn season with the Moon finishing its transit of Pisces and opposing both Jupiter and Uranus and then the Moon moving into Aries where it creates a Cardinal Sign T-Square by the Moon’s opposition to the Sun and Saturn and the Moon square Pluto. The Cardinal Climax is triggered once again, and we truly engage Fall with a possible fall. This energy is akin to the August period, a month that many of us may have found particularly challenging and difficult. The energy is ratcheted up severalfold. We may want to move on from old situations and initiate the new. But we might be champing at the bit, wanting to get on with things, even if we’re not fully clear regarding the things we wish to engage. The energy could easily get away from us today. We might feel as though the world is spinning out of control, and that word ‘control’ is the keyword here. For these times ask us for a little humility and a mindset alteration from assuming that we can master the world to an acceptance that we are co-creators with the energies unfolding. We can work with the shifting tides but we are not able to turn the tides or control them.
Friday, September 24th – Taking a Breather. Tuesday through Thursday of this week could have been rapid fire with us pushing the envelope, overdoing, all the while that things beyond our control impacted our movement and our actions. Friday might allow us something of a breather. The Moon continues in Aries today but makes no connections to the planets. This is a day for us to focus on our own personal interests, do our own thing, without feeling compelled or controlled by other people or our mundane concerns. We could use this day as a ‘mental health’ day where we do what we want and the way we choose to do it. We are not interested in what is expected of us. We might be far more interested in trying different things out but without the need to commit or even judge the things that we’re doing. If things have been a little much during the mid-week, then this Friday offers us the ability of chilling out and just enjoying ourselves.
Saturday, September 25th – Doing the Obligatory Rag – Sun, Pluto, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course. Saturday could have us feeling between a rock and a hard place. The Libra Sun squares Pluto, while the Moon sextiles Neptune. We may want to moon around, enjoy ourselves with friends and just continue with some down time on this Saturday. But we might also realize that other people have expectations and plans for us to accomplish. We have to be wary of our interactions with other people. Everyone today may be feeling a little uncomfortable in their own skins. We might vent our frustrations on other people or find that other people have ever-raised bars for us to jump over. The possibility of digging in our heels and resisting manipulative tactics could have us wasting some time today. While we might feel in a tug of war between what we want to do and obligatory plans of what we are supposed to do, the energy dies down for over seven hours as the Moon goes Void-of-Course making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Aries and before entering Taurus where it trines Pluto. Later in the day, we may be more willing to be obliging and can readily take care of tasks at hand. This Saturday is reminiscent of Monday. We may have our own desires and intentions, feel somewhat stymied to engage them, hang out for a while before putting the pedal to the metal when we can start dealing with projects in a responsible and effective manner.
Sunday, September 26th – Have, or Have Not – Mars, Venus. There is a trite saying that states: ‘when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping.’ This Sunday could exemplify that statement. The Taurus Moon today opposes both Mars and Venus. If we feel restricted by limitations, our reaction could be belligerent and we might shop until we drop. While we could be quite resourceful today, finding bargains and virtually squeezing blood from a stone, we might also be somewhat adamant regarding our intentions and our opinions. Let’s keep in mind that these times demand that we not become rigid or fixed in our plans or our opinions. These times ask us to be flexible and adaptable. Things may not be as they seem and it would be wise for us to do our due diligence regarding looking at things from different perspectives and taking our time before we move forward in any direction, all the while that we keep our finger on the pulse for any variations or unexpected situations that could force us to change our perspective. This Sunday is one when we might either feel that we can go whole hog or feel as though we cannot afford enough. The truth might lie somewhere in between, but we’re unlikely today to be looking at the middle ground but instead we may be seeing only the extremes.
