Often things are far better in anticipation than the actual event, and that could prove true for this Christmastime. There is a strong spiritual quality early in the week, a sense of possibilities and opportunities for the days ahead. Now is a good time for us to spread cheer, feel uplifted, get together with friends and consider our options. Early in the week is a wonderful time for us to jump off the track and engage in the mystique of this time of year. We might want to put down our goals on a wish list of those things we wish to experience in the year ahead.
Remember that we are on the threshold of a paradigm shift. Much of the confusion and chaos we have seen around us are only indications of these changing times. We are moving onto the magical mystery tour, times when things can change dramatically and instantly. Let’s think of possibilities and even those things that are seemingly impossible. We need to keep in mind that nothing is impossible unless we believe it to be. It is important that we believe in ourselves, and believe in our dreams.
The end of the week could be somewhat deflating and rather confusing. Plans could be upset due to delays or difficulties with travel arrangements. We should try to avoid feeling frustrated and instead take our time even to the point of additional time. We need to realize that communications can be off with a liability towards misunderstandings. Yes, we are entering another Mercury retrograde cycle, so important decisions and long-term commitments might best be postponed until after mid-January.
Over the weekend we can enjoy some special moments by buying something nice for ourselves, pampering ourselves and creating our sense of sanctuary.
Monday, December 21st – Here Comes Winter! – Venus, Neptune, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Sun Capricorn. Monday starts the week with the Winter Solstice, the beginning of the Winter Season as the Sun exits Sagittarius to enter the Cardinal Earth Sign of Capricorn. This day, and even the backdrop of this season, can be idyllic. Venus sextiles Neptune, Jupiter conjuncts Neptune and the Aquarius Moon begins the day conjunct both Neptune and Jupiter and sextile Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost eleven hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before entering Capricorn where it conjuncts the Sun that has just moved into Capricorn to usher in the Winter season. We may put on our rose-colored glasses today, seeing everything from a most positive, and possibly unrealistic, viewpoint. We are most likely in the holiday spirit, seeing everyone and everything from the best case scenario. No parade rainers today, please. Nothing can dampen our irrational exuberance, and we are likely to hear and read the good news spin everywhere we turn. We may want to engage our friends near and far alike. Our conversations could focus on the possibilities for our future. Our feelings can be that the worst is over, that the storm clouds have parted and there is nothing ahead of us except sunshine and good times. Let’s enjoy this upbeat disposition. After all, it is a holiday time, and we all need a sense of good cheer after the year many of us have been through. Even if we are merely putting on hold our nagging daily concerns, today is a day to believe in the magic, to accept the possibility of miracles and to embrace the paradigm shift when things can come about in a most unexpected and asequential manner. No downers today, please. As the day progresses, we may feel our compassion for those less fortunate than ourselves come forward. We might seek out how we can put spirit into action by taking practical steps to help those who are having difficulty in helping themselves. This Monday can be a truly exceptional day. Even if it is not totally grounded in reality, today is a day to embrace our prospects, to engage our possibilities and accept the possibilities of the seemingly impossible.
Tuesday, December 22nd – Abstract into Groundwork – Pluto. With the thrust of energy we might have felt yesterday and the shift from merely mental meanderings of possibilities into considering how we can make possibilities a reality, Tuesday continues with a push towards manifesting our dreams, making the conceptual a practical reality. Today, the Pisces Moon sextiles Pluto. On the one hand, we might be looking at taking care of outstanding issues, tying up loose ends, and completing projects that have been hovering over us. After all, we are approaching the end of the year, and whatever we can do to bring the events of this passing year to closure, we are likely to be adamant in doing so. We do not want to bring a lot of this year’s baggage into our new year. On the other hand, today is a good day for us to blueprint our plans, strategize the means by which to accomplish our goals and consider a best practices approach using streamlined methods to get to where we want to go. The 22nd in Numerology is a Master Number, indicative of the Master Builder, and today we can lay the groundwork for our future. Even if we are caught up in the daily frenetic energies of this holiday time, we may have one eye clearly focused on our future and where we want to go. It would be wise for us to not merely concentrate on the immediate but to also incorporate our long-range view. We can gain a great sense of our abilities, recognize that we have the skill set to make our ambitions real and acknowledge that some of the difficulties of recent times may prove to be an essential honing of being more effective with less expenditure of energy by being resourceful and cutting to the core without a great deal of superfluous or extraneous matters in the way.
Wednesday, December 23rd – Effectively Slaloming the Twists and Turns – Mercury, Uranus. Wednesday continues with our preparations, conclusions and blueprinting that we might have engaged in over the past two days. Today, the Pisces Moon sextiles Mercury and conjuncts Uranus. Our holiday plans can come together neatly and effectively. But it would be wise to keep in mind the Scottish poet Robert Burns’ admonition that the plans of mice and men often come to naught. No matter how much we plan, no matter how much we may feel that we have accounted for all particulars, unanticipated variables could crop up that force us to adapt to changing conditions. If we can be open to the magic of these times, then we can effectively navigate the twists and turns. Today is a good day to wrap up our holiday plans and then to take advantage of unexpected opportunities that might arise. We don’t want to be saddled with extra work or going overboard with our responsibilities. Instead, we might want some time to do things spontaneously and on the impulse of the moment. This Wednesday can be a fun day, especially if we haven’t left things for the last minute.
Thursday, December 24th – The Mad Hatter’s Dance – Sun, Pluto, Venus, Lunar T-Square, Saturn. What a difference a day makes. The early part of this week could seem almost idyllic with great fun, upbeat attitudes and a sense of everything coming up roses. Or was that our perspective being seen through rose-colored glasses? This Thursday, Christmas Eve, could prove to be somewhat frantic. The Sun conjuncts Pluto and the Pisces Moon squares Venus before the Moon moves into Aries where it creates a Cardinal Sign T-Square by squaring both Pluto and the Sun in Capricorn and opposing Saturn in Libra. While this should be a time of the greatest festivities in regard to Christmastime, this day might in fact be rather explosive. We may feel uncomfortable in our own skin, a sense of our obligations overwhelming and not what we might want to do. People may be far more self-assertive and self-focused, losing the idea of the brotherhood and sisterhood of humanity that this time is supposed to celebrate. We may have much to do today and much of what we have to do may seem far more associated with the needs of other people or what is expected of us rather than what we want to do. We might be looking at what we can get rid of, and there could even be a significant leaving off the stage of some significant personality during this time. If we can slow things down, then we are less likely to have an explosive, knee-jerk reaction. Otherwise, people can become slightly ballistic.
Friday, December 25th – Ghosts of Christmas Past – Sun, Saturn, Mars, Venus Capricorn. Friday is Christmas Day and this Friday has the Sun square Saturn and the Aries Moon trine Mars. Venus exits Sagittarius and enters Capricorn where it creates a Stellium of three or more planets in the Cardinal Earth Sign as Venus joins the Sun and Mercury in Capricorn. Our energy level may not be the greatest. We might feel exhausted, as though the wind has been knocked out of our sails. Perhaps we have been doing too much celebrating earlier, and this day proves to be a whimpering crescendo of the holidays. We might have committed ourselves to certain social gatherings today but might prefer to stretch our wings and fly off into the great unknown. Even if the pulls are for us to travel to distant horizons, we are fully aware and mindful of what we need to do, what we are supposed to do. A balance between our responsibilities and our personal desires is needed today. Let’s do what we have planned to do but also allow ourselves some time to do our own thing. We could encounter people more of our past than our present. If we go there, let’s use them as a mirror to see how much we have grown during the intervening time of our having been associated with them. A parade of the past is often beneficial for us to gauge where we were, where we are and give us impetus to move ahead with where we are going. Happy Christmas, and let’s embrace the celebration of light born in the darkness.
Saturday, December 26th – Staying Focused Amidst the Chaos – Mercury, Neptune, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Pluto, Mercury retrograde. If we weren’t able to stretch our wings yesterday, then we are likely to do so today. Unfortunately, the air currents could be incredibly choppy. We start this Saturday with the Aries Moon square Mercury and sextile both Neptune and Jupiter before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over eight and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Aries and before entering Taurus where the Moon trines both Venus and Pluto. We may start the day with all sorts of plans in mind. It would be wise to check our itinerary, our directions and, if we’re dealing with other people, making sure that everyone is on the same page. For this Saturday also has Mercury turning retrograde and we all know what that means. Murphy’s Law kicks in whereby whatever can go wrong could. Communications can be off with possible miscommunications and misunderstandings. We could experience computer glitches, and travel plans may be delayed or disrupted. Coming a day after Christmas, although even influential on Christmas, we need to anticipate some foul-ups and frustrations today. It might be wise to allow things to settle before moving ahead today. Let’s get a feel for the energies operating. The latter part of the day could be far more productive and we might find ourselves shopping or just straightening up around our home. There might be some interesting bargains to be had today but it would be important to do the necessary diligent evaluation and well-thought out consideration regarding anything we might buy.
Sunday, December 27th – Take Five – Sun. If we need to purchase equipment to enhance our management skills, today would be a good day to shop around. The Taurus Moon trines the Sun today. We are far more likely to take our time today and consider how we can lay the foundation stones for our new year ahead. Bringing things to completion, dealing with what needs to be done before the new year would be a good use of today’s energy. We might also be looking at just staying put, catching our breath and recharging our batteries before the week ahead. We are far more together today, integrated within our inner and external selves and not feeling the need to prove ourselves or to go out of our way. Let’s Take Five and enjoy time for relaxation and re-creation.
