Confusion can be the name of the game as we start this week. Plans made could fall apart. Misunderstandings and miscommunications can be rampant. Whatever we have scheduled, it would be a good idea to check and reconfirm before venturing forth. In fact, whatever we do, it would be important to evaluate as we go along to be certain all the bases are covered and nothing has fallen between the cracks.
Yes, we have entered another Mercury retrograde cycle, the three-week cycle that can affirm the statement of Murphy’s Law whereby ‘whatever can go wrong will’. Now is a time for us to ‘re’ our lives — review, reconsider, rework, redo, repeat, etc.
This week would be a good week to go over our finances, consider our budget and see where we are regarding our revenue stream and our expense costs. If we can postpone major purchases or significant decisions, it would be best to do so until early next month. If we do have to go ahead with important matters, we need to check and re-check before committing or finalizing.
Relationships with other people can be testy especially as we come towards the end of the week. People may be far more interested in their own personal goals and desires and far less accommodating to other people’s needs. Let’s watch out for explosive situations and maintain as much diplomacy and decorum as possible.
The weekend might have us running around. We may be feeling that we’re constantly on the go, trying to play catch-up but never getting caught up. Sunday would be a good day to get off the track, focus on home projects and even consider a good cleaning and clearing out the clutter.
Monday, September 7th – Laboring Under False Illusions – Venus, Jupiter, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury retrograde. Late on Sunday evening, early Monday morning depending upon where we are on the planet, Mercury turns retrograde for virtually the rest of the month, turning direct on the 29th. This Mercury retrograde begins in the Sign of Libra. We also start the week with the Moon in Aries trine Venus and sextile both Jupiter and Neptune. In the US, this Monday is Labor Day, the end of a long holiday weekend that symbolically signals the unofficial end of summer. We may be looking for grabbing all the gusto we can, a desire to ratchet up our fun times as though we had not fully enjoyed this passing summer and want one final blowout. Where a problem might arise is in effecting our plans, for today could have delays, travel problems, misunderstandings with other people and computer glitches or communication transmission difficulties. Our personal needs versus those of other people could either have us skirting issues making nice, presenting things in an illusory manner or we might assume that we know what is best and what is right action, all the while that we could be stepping on other people’s toes. The day begins with us in full throttle, with various plans and good intentions. Let’s keep in mind that things are far easier to realize in our mind’s eye than in physical reality and this day could be a poster boy for that paradox. It would be wise for us to lower our expectations for this day, recognize that not all of our planned activities may come to completion and to add on extra time to get things done. It is important that people be on the same page. If we don’t understand something or if something could be open to different interpretations, it is important that we clarify, even if it means repeating things several times over. The latter part of the day has the Moon Void-of-Course for over ten hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Aries and before entering Taurus tomorrow. The energy is quickest in the morning hours and then peters out as we progress through the day.
Tuesday, September 8th – Step by Step, Focused Intent – Pluto, Mars. Tuesday has us willing to step back on the track, focus on our daily existence and our normal routine. The Moon is in Taurus, trines Pluto and sextiles Mars. This Tuesday can be a highly productive day and especially one when we look to rid ourselves of the extraneous and superfluous in our lives. We want to focus on that which is important, essential and has true purpose and meaning for us. We’re not interested in wasting time, nor being distracted by a lot of the dross of silly diversions. We are able to concentrate, do an inventory-taking, eliminate the garbage and replenish our supplies. We may find ourselves doing some touch-up around our homes and organizing our lives in a functional and strong time management manner. Today is also a good day for us to look at our budget, see our revenue stream versus our expenses and consider where we can cut back. We’re looking at being lean and mean and even if this seems a new exercise for some of us, we can be very proficient in cutting out the waste. This is one of those days when we can stretch our monies, find bargains and not be swayed by impulse purchases. Let’s take the time to look at our scheduled activities, the things we have to do and devise a best practices approach by which to get things done.
Wednesday, September 9th – Too Much of a Good Thing – Sun, Lunar T-Square, Venus, Jupiter. Wednesday continues with the Taurus Moon which today trines the Sun and creates a Fixed Sign T-Square by the Taurus Moon square Venus in Leo and square Jupiter in Aquarius. If we had shopping to do, yesterday would have been far better than today. Yesterday we were more focused, more attentive to what we really need as opposed to what would be mere trifles and a needless expense. This Wednesday is not the same way. On the contrary, today we could find ourselves wanting more, more, more. We could easily be enamored by appearances, buy into the image and find ourselves being overly extravagant and spending too much and indulging in excess. Although today is a good day to deal with details, it would be best for us to address important matters and not get carried away by possibilities or things that shimmer and shine. We could easily fall into impulse purchases today and our style may be a little gauche or over the top. There is a bumper sticker that states ‘when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping’. Today could be one of those days when frustrations lead us to forgetting about our budget and tending toward those feel-good purchases that are great in the moment but seem a waste of money in reflection. Let’s keep a tight rein on our monies today, put away the credit cards and suffice to doing some window-shopping. Everything may just be a little too much today. Even our interactions with other people could have someone drawing a line in the sand and suggesting it’s their way or the highway. Wednesday is a day to count to ten before any actions or reactions.
Thursday, September 10th – Implementing a Plan of Action – Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury. Thursday begins with the Taurus Moon trine Saturn, square Neptune and sextile Uranus. If we don’t fly off chasing a dream or buying into possibilities that in truth are unrealistic, then this Thursday can be a day when we can implement a structured, well-considered plan of action utilizing innovative means and state of the art technology. We can streamline our activities, even consider new realms to explore. Although we can be highly effective and proceed in an expeditious manner, we do have to avoid opening up doors that might lead us down the garden path. Someone may have a great idea, but, if it were so great, why would they suggest we do it instead of their realizing the dream? Today is a day for us to consider possibilities but to evaluate those possibilities in a very practical way, all the while considering whether such prospects have legs for the future or merely good ideas in the moment. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for nine hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Taurus and before entering Gemini where it trines Mercury. With Void-of-Course Moons the energy drops off and things seem to stagnate. That’s one of the reasons we need to be very smart in regard to what we agree to take on and where we place our energies. With the volatility of these times, it is important that we use our time wisely in dealing with everything we have on our plate, the unexpected situations that arise and still have the opportunity to try out new activities that grab our interest. With the Moon in Gemini trine Mercury, the latter part of this Thursday is good time to catch up with old friends, make those phone calls or contacts we’ve been meaning to make, and communicate our ideas and go back over discussions that might have been misunderstood earlier.
Friday, September 11th – Blasting Over the Top – Venus, Jupiter, Sun, Pluto direct. Friday has Venus opposed Jupiter and the Gemini Moon trine Jupiter, square the Sun and sextile Venus. Pluto turns direct today ending its five-month retrograde cycle. Excess could be strong today. We could be extravagant and indulgent, wanting those things that put a smile on our face without consideration of the expense involved. September 11th also reminds citizens of the US of the attack on the Twin Towers in New York and the US Pentagon eight years before. Today is a day of remembrance and recently named a day of service. Anyway we slice it, this day can bring up a lot in our minds and in our memories. And we might seek to salve our consciousnesses by satiating our appetites. While this day is a good day to get together with friends, have a good time and explore possibilities for our future, it is not the most practical of days. We could easily gloss over details, forget about the specifics and just assume that things can come true based upon our wish fulfillment. Consequently, this day is not a day for precise and sharp planning, much less successful implementation. Pluto turning direct could prove dicey. There could be explosions, blasts, eruptions going on. Since the energy can be like a volcanic release, either effusive or explosive, it would be wise to take things slow, be alert and vigilant and maintain mindfulness. The times they are a’changing. Some things will move out of our lives easily, others far more dramatically. We all are going through a significant transformation, both as individuals and as a society. And more changes are on the way.
Saturday, September 12th – It Just Doesn’t Stop – Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Saturn, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Mercury. Saturday could be one intense day. Some of the intensity could be as a result of Pluto having turned direct yesterday and this Saturday could have us riding the wave of yesterday’s transformative energies. The day begins with the Moon still in Gemini and today trine Neptune and creating a Mutable Sign T-Square with our nemesis of the Saturn Uranus as the Gemini Moon squares Saturn in Virgo and squares Uranus in Pisces. Whatever we have planned for today, there could be some additional more piled on our ‘to do’ list. We may feel pulled between those plans already committed to and those activities that come up unexpectedly begging for our attention. We might feel pulled in various directions. Instead of feeling on overwhelm and anxious about what to do, the more we can work with quality of time more so than quantity of time, the better it would be. Trying to cover many bases in shorter spurts of energy or shorter time intervals would be the best approach to all the juggling we might have to do today. After the flurry of activity to end Friday evening and begin this early Saturday morning, the energy dies down as the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost nine hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Gemini and before entering its own Sign of Cancer. There is a lull in the activity level, but certainly no rest for the weary. As the Moon moves into Cancer its creates another T-Square, this one in Cardinal Signs, with the Moon opposed Pluto in Capricorn and square Mercury in Libra. Plans might either go by the boards in order to stay at home, catch our breath and consider tomorrow’s home project activities or we might engage our social get-togethers with an element of resentment that could spill over into heated discussions. This Saturday is one when we might question whether we’re coming or going. The direction might almost seem irrelevant since we’ll be in motion, moving furiously from one thing to another. Let’s just be sure that we don’t exhaust ourselves thereby opening ourselves up to being a little short with other people and ready to turn adversarial at any moment.
Sunday, September 13th – Home Clean Out – Mars. Whether yesterday and Friday wiped us out or not, this Sunday could have us more focused on home and family matters. The Cancer Moon conjuncts Mars. This day might not be a day of rest but it could justify our not doing a lot outside of our home base. Whether we are seeking the security of familiarity, just not wanting to deal with other people’s issues or feeling the need to deal with some home clean-up projects, home could be our primary focus today. We may not feel overly relaxed or restful today. We might be suffering from a recent energy overload, overtired and unable to fully take things down a notch or two and just rest and relax. Instead we may find ourselves doing things around our home, even if we’re just spinning our wheels. Straightening things up, doing a good pre-autumn clean-out and attending to matters around the home would be a good way to use today’s energy. Even if we don’t feel overly relaxed today, we may also not be feeling overly pressured by other people’s needs or demands. A day of rest this Sunday, although not that restful.
