September 28th – October 4th

Possibilities are everywhere this week but so too confusion. We may be more interested in communicating our ideas than executing them. And that would be preferable. Although we are ending three weeks of Mercury retrograde when we could have had difficulties with our relationships, our communications, computer problems and travel plans; we are not totally out of the woods quite yet.

It would be far wiser this week to write down all the areas that did not go smoothly for us over the past three weeks. Like creating a ‘to do’ list, we might want to plan on what we need to attend to in the days ahead that weren’t successfully accomplished during September. We can start to make amends for any failed attempts, and can plan on moving ahead with projects we might have put on hold during this three-week Mercury retrograde cycle.

It is interesting to note that both the opening of the UN General Assembly and the G20 meeting in Pittsburgh occurred during a Mercury retrograde — not an auspicious time for clarity, consensus or complete understanding.

This week Mercury turns direct and while that’s good news for greater clarity and the ability to get things done without various glitches that could have interfered with the process, whenever Mercury turns direction there’s a crescendo of problems and increased misunderstandings. It is far better to check and re-check to be certain that all essential factors have been accounted for before launching forward this week.

We might also want to concentrate this week on our health regimen, bumping up our immune system, especially in light of the increased variability in temperatures over the weeks ahead and increased stress on the physical body.

This week we could plan and strategize our next moves. We can be detail-oriented without losing sight of the forest for the trees. On the contrary, we have the ability of blending vision and method to come up with a best practices approach to draw nearer to the realization of our goals.

The one caveat for this week is not to leap forward without considering the parameters and the conditions. We may feel as if we have to respond to situations with the sense of someone looking over our shoulder. While the impetus is for us to act, let’s take our time and make sure that we get out of our own way. Now is a time for us to concentrate on doing our personal best. We do not have to prove anything to anyone.

Let’s relax and recognize that we have a great filtration process whereby we can focus on our dreams and desires, all the while attending to our daily responsibilities. This is a highly effective week, just so long as we don’t fall into a reactive or victim mode. We can be proactive but without jumping the gun. We can juggle and move from one thing to another keeping in mind the big picture while dealing with the minutiae.

Over the weekend, we need to be careful when driving and aware that there can be miscommunications and computer glitches. Flexibility is key, all with the knowledge that we can be successful by dealing with things as they come up.

Monday, September 28th – A World of Possibilities – Sun. Monday starts the week with the Moon moving into Aquarius where it trines the Sun. We are far more together today, balanced and looking at the world before us. We may want to consider our options, all the while that we are drawing upon other people as sounding boards for us to consider our realistic alternatives compared to those situations that might be mere flights of fancy. This is a good day for us to make contacts with friends and relatives, touching base with other people but with an appreciation that clarity could be somewhat lacking and can open the door to misunderstandings or miscommunications. Although we may be feeling on top of the world, it would also be essential to make sure that we’re not looking at the world through rose-colored glasses. Let’s give thought to our prospects but be wary of moving ahead until we have done due diligence and evaluated things under close scrutiny. There can be delays occurring today with traffic problems and computer glitches and communication issues. Let’s maintain a positive attitude and keep in mind that things often take longer on the earth plane than they do in our mind’s eye.

Tuesday, September 29th – Feeling Groovy – Jupiter, Mercury direct. Although a throwback to the late 1960’s, groovy is an appropriate word for how we might feel today. We continue with our upbeat attitude we may have engaged yesterday, as today’s Aquarius Moon conjuncts Jupiter. While groovy is another term for upbeat, it also conjures up a feeling that might be focused on the inspired and enthusiastic which could close our eyes to other aspects of reality, even to the point of irrational exuberance. Yup, here we go again. We might easily buy into the good news items and lose sight of critical and honest evaluations of what is going on. While walking on the sunny side of the street is to be commended, it would also be suggested that we not be overly confident or overly enthusiastic. Let’s remember the volatility of these times, with wild swings between irrational exuberance and desolate despair. Neither extreme may be totally valid as much as whipsaw reactions from one extreme to the other. This Tuesday is a good day for us to take a breather from the worries of the world, and our world. At the same time, we do need to keep a rein on any indulgences or excesses. Mercury turns direct today ending its three-week retrograde cycle. Although we are ending a cycle of confusion, misunderstandings and miscommunications, we may find that such elements are ratcheted up today. Let’s add on extra time today to get things done and to get from place to place. In the classic rock ‘n roll song of ‘feeling groovy’, we are also advised to ‘slow down you move too fast’. So it could be for us today. Let’s slow it down and make sure that we’re taking the right steps and not trying to make giant leaps.

Wednesday, September 30th – Slow Train Coming – Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto. Wednesday begins the day with the Moon continuing its transit of Aquarius and conjunct Neptune. The fantasies, hopes and wishes of the past two days continue on. We could get carried away with the possibilities of ‘what if’. That’s not such a bad thing since everything begins from the conceptual and the abstract. Where a difficulty might arise is assuming that as we wish it to be, so it is, skipping all the intermediary steps from beginning through execution into manifestation. This Wednesday, however, does allow us to put some grounding and foundation stones under our dreams and desires. This Wednesday is a day of two different types of themes and energies. We start the day with the enthusiasm of ‘what could be’ with the Aquarius Moon conjunct Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for close to twelve hours as the Moon makes no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Aquarius and before entering Pisces where it sextiles Pluto. This Void-of-Course period can be seen as a percolating phase, a germination stage, a time when some of our enthusiasm and our dreams stir up and give us the impetus to make our dreams come true. When the Moon enters Pisces to sextile Pluto, we can blend our visionary thoughts of what we want to achieve with our consideration of the best practices approach by which to turn our goals into reality. Blueprinting our time, strategizing our activities and considering the optimum use of all our resources of time, energy, finances would help us create the itinerary and the steps along the way to realize our ambitions.

Thursday, October 1st – Getting our House in Order – Mercury, Mars, Venus. Thursday begins the month of October and today Mercury sextiles Mars and the Pisces Moon opposes Venus. Today is a good day to get our house in order, to straighten things up, clear out the clutter and to do things in the most expeditious ways possible. A test for this day will be the balance between service and self-sacrifice. While we could be highly sensitive and compassionate, we also have to watch that we don’t get drawn into other people’s dramas whereby they want us to help them but help which could either become a bottomless pit or become so entangled in people’s issues to which they are so attached they just won’t let go. If we can maintain the balance between being of assistance without being drained by the experience, then we can help other people out and still have time to take care of our own responsibilities. This Thursday can be a highly productive day. We can keep in focus both the big picture of what we want to do and where we want to go and the little picture of the details and the specifics needed to achieve the big picture.

Friday, October 2nd – Jumping the Gun – Mercury, Mars, Uranus, Saturn. Friday could be one of those days when we want to accomplish a great deal, go into turbodrive, but find ourselves stuck in neutral and spinning our wheels. The Pisces Moon conjuncts Uranus, trines Mars and opposes both Mercury and Saturn. We may have a great deal of energy today, possibly operating from a high level of nervous energy or anxiety, and far more interested in doing interesting things that grab our attention rather than dealing with our daily responsibilities. While we would prefer this day to be a ‘mental health’ day when we can be free to do spontaneously whatever we choose to do, certain obligations could be calling us. If we do address our normal tasks, let’s be sure not to merely do so in a perfunctory manner, doing a walk through, glossing over important details and skirting over the specifics. Our emotions may go through some wild swings today, at moments being elated, other times being depressed. With recognition of the possible whipsaw to this day, it would be wise for us to create time in our day that deals with our routine but also allows some time to do things on an impulse. No matter what our plans for this day might be, things may not go according to plan either by unexpected situations arising or by our own volition.

Saturday, October 3rd – Limited by Obligations – Pluto. Although we can often postpone some of the requirements of our normal, everyday life, we cannot always dismiss our routine tasks. If we did not attend to our responsibilities yesterday, then this Saturday could find obligations nipping at our heels and even forestalling whatever we might have chosen to do on this Saturday. The Moon in Aries today squares Pluto. Our desire to put our mark on situations, focus on what we want to begin and launch new initiatives could be hampered. We may feel like we’re behind an eight-ball, having to put our interests to the side and deal instead with responsibilities. We might discover that some of our new goals do not meet standards, whether we have a lack of resources or municipal statutes limiting our possibilities or other people trying to rain on our parade. This day would be a good day for us to look at our ‘to do’ list and start to cull those activities and involvements that are more a restriction than a liberation. We may do an inventory-taking of our lives today and start to rid ourselves of those things that only get in our way, things that we have had to do which have also proven to be limitations. If something doesn’t work for us, then perhaps it’s time to begin to eliminate it from our lives. Let’s keep in mind the advice that the cup has to be emptied before it can be filled. Any limitations might have to be released in order to make room for situations that are more resonant with whom we are becoming.

Sunday, October 4th – Champing at the Bit – Mercury, Mars, Uranus, Aries Full Moon, Sun, Jupiter. This Sunday is a high energy day. While we often refer to Sunday as a day of rest, not on this Sunday. Of all the days this week, this one takes it up several notches. Not only do we have the Aries Full Moon with the Moon opposed the Sun and the Moon sextile Jupiter. This day also has Mercury sextile Mars, Mercury opposed Uranus and Mars trine Uranus. The energy is ratcheted up severalfold and we may be in turbothrust today. Although we can accomplish a great deal today, we have to be careful that we’re not trying to move too fast. The Mercury Uranus opposition is one of my least favorite energy configurations for air travel, and traffic problems could arise as well as computer glitches. We may be champing at the bit, but we best slow things down. Otherwise, accidents and unexpected problems could occur. This is a day for us to have our ear to the railroad track. We could come up with some startling insights and even discover an innovative and unique way by which to incorporate a best practices approach to get things done. By streamlining operations, being in ’the zone’, being open to receive insight and understanding, we can go from one thing to another very readily, taking care of the slightest details, all the while that we’re operating on all eight cylinders and accomplishing more than we could have ever imagined. The key is for us to get out of our own way, not try to force things according to our will, but rather to be nimble and quick taking advantage of the openings as they pop up. This Sunday is an exciting day, if we can keep up the pace. If we start to control the day, or get in our way, then we might be throwing ourselves under the bus.
