This week launches the Autumn season, and this is a good time for us to consider the balance in our lives. If we have swayed too much towards the needs of other people or towards being overly concerned about the goings-on in the outside world, now is a time for us to reflect upon where we are, where we have been and where we want to go. If we don’t consider the possibilities, then we are likely to get stuck in the daily grind. Such an attitude allows for a victim perspective, feeling at the whims of ‘the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune’ as Shakespeare wrote.
This week let’s think about the changes that have gone on inside us. We may decide to do an inventory-taking of our lives, to see what works and what doesn’t. We might also determine those things – those people, activities and goals – that no longer speak to us.
The latter part of the week is a time to spread our wings and expand our horizons. Whether it’s making plans of where we would travel with time and money no object, or just getting out of town for a day trip; we should consider broadening our reach and embracing the enthusiasm of possibilities.
Having considered what to rid ourselves of and also taking into account how to expand our life’s activities, the weekend is a good time to start laying the foundation stones for implementing ‘out with the old, in with the new’.
Monday, September 21st – Cutting to the Core – Pluto, Venus. Monday can be a highly productive day. The Scorpio Moon sextiles Pluto in Capricorn and sextiles Venus in Virgo. Today is one of those days when we can be laser-like, micromanaging and concentrating on the essential. We are not interested in the extraneous or anything more than the fundamental, significant and extremely important. Today is a good day to clean out our closets and go through our files to rid ourselves of material that is outdated and only adds to our clutter. This is a day to do a major sorting through and throwing out, clearing away the irrelevant that only distracts us or keeps us from being highly effective. If things are not working for us or serving us, then we are likely to give them a heave-ho. This is one of those times when we want to be lean and mean, cut to the core, and focus on the bare bones. In our desire to strip away excess and emphasize only the meaningful, we could have a tendency to be a little sharp and even prickly. We’re not interested in the social niceties today, decorum or fluff to buffer the truth. We want to streamline our activities, work with a best practices approach and not waste our time on trivialities. We can strategize and blueprint the means to achieve our goals by the fastest and most incisive ways.
Tuesday, September 22nd – Fall, From the Pedestal, From Grace – Mercury, Saturn, Lunar Grand Trine, Mars, Uranus, Jupiter, Neptune, Sun Libra. Tuesday has Mercury conjunct Saturn. The Scorpio Moon squares both Jupiter and Neptune, sextiles both Mercury and Saturn and creates a Water Element Grand Trine with the Scorpio Moon trine Mars in Cancer and trine Uranus in Pisces. This Tuesday is a day for due diligence. The bloom may come off the rose regarding some of our hoped-for possibilities. But we are getting far more serious today, continuing our clean out of anything other than the truly significant. This Tuesday is a time when we can use insights and intuitive senses to get a clearer picture as to what is going on rather than the hype, spin or projections being served up to us as pablum. We may not like all of the impressions that we are getting today. They may run counter to what we would want or wish for. Although some of our feelings about life and the environment in which we find ourselves may be disconcerting, we also have the opportunity of being both more serious and also clearer regarding the hand being dealt us. From this sense of true reality we can then make our choices, consider what needs to be eliminated from our lives and what is fundamental to our daily existence. Let’s keep in mind that we, as individuals and as a society, are going through a major transformative phase right now. We are shape shifting, morphing from one paradigm into a totally new paradigm, and we do not have all the information of this new paradigm — its characteristics, its format, its liabilities or its potentialities. Today is a day to trust our instincts. People may still be on edge and relationships could be a little dicey. We’re not interested in the snake oil salespeople and their tales of vast improvements and promised lands. We want the facts, only the facts, and our perceptive sense is far more discerning today regarding what is real and what is a conjured-up image of fantasy. We have the ability to pull back the curtain to the Wizard of Oz screen and see the little guy punching the buttons. Today, the Emperor can be seen with no clothes, but we would prefer to see the naked truth today rather than a staged presentation. This day also brings Summer to a close and begins the Autumn, some would say the Fall, as the Sun exits Virgo and moves into Libra. For more on the Autumn energies, please see my website and both the Autumn posting and my Autumn Alert posting. Let’s keep in mind that the Libra Sign is a question of balance and to reach such a point often demands wild swings between extremes.
Wednesday, September 23rd – The Alchemical Process Born from the Ashes – Sun, Pluto, Mercury, Uranus, Venus. Wednesday is often referred to as a hump day, lying in the middle of the work week. This hump could be more than a speed bump and, in actual, fact, could prove to be one intense day. The Sun, having just entered Libra, squares Pluto and Mercury retrograding back through its own Sign of Virgo opposes Uranus. We may feel uncomfortable in our own skin. We may feel as though we are banging our head against the wall, trying to make sense out of situations that are ever-changing with unexpected variables arising that keep us from being focused or getting full disclosure of all the facets of a situation. Communications can be off. There can be computer glitches, Internet problems and misunderstandings. Travel may be disrupted, and the energies of this day are some of my least favorite for air travel. We may get some startling news today, news that forces us to rethink our goals or that demands we take into account factors we weren’t even aware of. This Wednesday could force us to abandon our plans or might add on extra matters for us to address. We may hardly feel on solid ground as a whirlwind of shifts and changes seem apparent. Fortunately, we do have the Moon in Sagittarius sextile the Sun and square Venus. The key for this day is to maintain a philosophical attitude, try to embrace a bemused disposition and recognize the truth to the saying that “life is too mysterious to take it serious”. Today is replete with mystery, enigma and things virtually turning on a dime with change happening instantly, immediately and with little forewarning, except for what I’m writing to you. If we try to micromanage this day, we’ll lose sight of the dramatic shifts and changes occurring. This Wednesday is a day to keep our eyes on the broad horizon, not to take anything personally and remember the two key characteristics essential for successful survival during this times: flexibility and adaptability.
Thursday, September 24th – Catching a Breather – Jupiter. During the intensity of these times, times when nothing seems to go according to plan, times when life seems to be spinning out of control; it is important now and again not to get caught up into the craziness of the world or the antics of the people around us. Every now and then we need to step off the track, get out of our daily grind of a routine and take a look from a fresh perspective and a detached viewpoint. On this Thursday, the Sagittarius Moon sextiles Jupiter, the planet that rules Sagittarius. Today is a good day to flush our heads of the daily responsibilities, clear ourselves from the unexpected situations that have demanded our attention, and just take some time to catch our breath and enjoy a respite. Yes, this Thursday is one of those days when we might cry out: ‘Stop the world. I want to get off.’ While no one might hear our call, we can step away and give ourselves a break from the insanity. Today is a good day to stretch our wings, broaden our parameters and look to the future rather than just getting caught up with trying to maintain the present. Whether we take a drive into the country, a hike in the woods, a stroll by the seashore or stay at home and read a few pages of inspiring, uplifting literature; this Thursday is a good day to recharge our batteries, re-create our enthusiasm and walk on the sunny side of the street… even if everyone else is crying out that it’s raining cats and dogs. Let’s enjoy this Thursday and focus on the positive and the possibilities. No matter how difficult life might seem at times, one of the beauties of these times is the fact that, similar to Mark Twain’s comment about New England weather, all we have to do is wait a few minutes before things change. The fixity and rigidity, the stability and security of the past paradigm are gone. We have entered a new paradigm, a time when things can change immediately, instantly and without a moment’s notice. We have stepped onto the magical, mystery tour, even if it seems at times more like Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.
Friday, September 25th – Covering All the Bases… Not – Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Uranus, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto. Thursday evening – Friday morning could prove anxiety-provoking. The Sagittarius Moon sextiles Neptune but also creates a Mutable Sign T-Square with our nemesis of the Saturn Uranus opposition as the Moon squares Uranus in Pisces and squares both Mercury and Saturn in Virgo. We may feel on overload today. Whether we are trying to address everything that has been piling up before we come into the weekend, or unexpected situations have bollixed our schedule and make a mess of our plans, we may have a great deal going on today. We may be going from one thing to another, scurrying around but we also have to keep in mind that haste makes waste. In our push to get as much done as possible, we could easily skim over certain important details, not read between the lines and forget to account for variables we had not previously considered. We could be operating on overwhelm today, and it would be wise for us not to assume that we can get everything done that we feel needs to be done. The more we can streamline situations without dropping a stitch, the more we can accomplish in a shorter period of time. The primary idea to keep in mind today is being attentive to detail all the while that we have various diverse projects demanding our attention. Taking pruning shears to our plans for the day would be suggested, especially in light of the fact that we awaken already feeling on overload. If we don’t cut back on some of our today’s ‘to do’ list, then we might be so overwhelmed that virtually nothing gets done. For after the early day’s flurry of activity, or at least stress, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for eight hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before entering Capricorn where it conjuncts Pluto. The irony of the day is that no matter how revved up we get in the early morning hours and no matter how much we intend to accomplish, if we haven’t done our culling and cut back on our intended plans for the day, then we could find the lull occurs whereby things take longer than we like, or delays prevents us from getting certain things done and then towards the end of the day we either voluntarily or are forced to cut back on our ‘to do’ list. This Friday is one of those days when we need to see the kernel of truth in that snarky comment of putting off today whatever one can for another day.
Saturday, September 26th – Social Proprietary Obligations – Sun, Venus. Saturday has the Capricorn Moon square the Sun and trine Venus. This Saturday could have us back at it, dealing with certain things we were unable to complete yesterday, taking care of business, even though we might have to put off fun activities with other people for a later time. Responsibilities may be calling us, and we have to be rather diplomatic if our obligations force us to cancel plans made with someone for a fun outing or an enjoyable get-together. There can be social interchanges today but they may seem more obligatory than fun choices. Today is one of those days for us to keep in mind our long-term objectives and recognize that sometimes we have to do things we’d rather not in order to achieve our bigger ambitions. Social decorum today could be one of our strengths. We know what to say and how to say it and we can be truly impressive, even if we feel that we’re only going through the motions.
Sunday, September 27th – Operating on All Cylinders – Mars, Mercury, Uranus, Saturn. Sunday could prove to be the best day of this week. It may not be a day of rest but rather a fairly active day. We can get a great deal done today, especially if we prioritize our activities. The Capricorn Moon today opposes Mars, sextiles Uranus and trines both Mercury and Saturn. We might be highly energized, ready to conquer the world but let’s keep in mind the importance of priorities, otherwise we could take on more than would be appropriate. This is a day for us to work in a strategic manner, a day when we can expedite our projects and keep in mind both the overall picture and the specific details that are the parts which make up the whole. Although home and family projects might need to be addressed, it would be wise to take some time to blueprint our plans for the future and consider the best practices approach to realize our dreams. This is one of those days when we can work smarter rather than harder. People are likely to be impressed by our perseverance, our determination and our willingness to incorporate innovative ways to achieve our goals. A primo day this Sunday is, a day when we can get it done.
